Psalms 21:3 — preventest = comest to meet. Compare "settest" in Psalms 21:3 . crown. See Revelation 14:14 , and compare Matthew 8:20 .

Psalms 29:6 — Sirion = Hermon. Compare Deuteronomy 3:9 . unicorn = the bull-calf of wild oxen. Compare Psalms 22:21 .Job 39:9 .

Psalms 33:21 — trusted = confided. Hebrew. batah. App-69 . holy. See note on Exodus 3:5 . name. See note on Psalms 20:1 .

Psalms 46:6 — heathen = nations. raged. Same word as "roar", Psalms 46:3 . were moved = moved. Same word as in Psalms 46:5 .

Proverbs 3:20 — clouds, &c. = skies. dew = night mist. See note on Psalms 133:3 . "Dew" falls only when there are no clouds.

Proverbs 3:3 — mercy = lovingkindness, or grace. Bind. Like the phylacteries. Compare Proverbs 6:21 ; Proverbs 7:3 ; and see Exodus 13:16 .

Isaiah 51:15 — divided the sea. Reference to Pentateuch (Exodus 14:21 ). The LORD of hosts. See note on 1 Samuel 1:3 .

Jeremiah 17:8 — as a tree. Reference to an earlier book (Psalms 1:1-3 ). river = stream. Hebrew. yubal , from yabal , to flow.

Jeremiah 31:2 — when I went. Reference to Pentateuch (Exodus 3:0 .Numbers 10:33 .Deuteronomy 1:33; Deuteronomy 1:33 ). App-92 .

Jeremiah 31:23 — the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel. See note on Jeremiah 7:3 . bring again. This cannot be spiritualized.

Daniel 2:8 — gain the time = gain time. It may have reference to that day being an unlucky day. Compare Esther 3:7 .

Jonah 2:9 — Salvation is of = Salvation (belongeth] to: as in Psalms 3:8 . The prayer (verses: Jonah 2:2-9 ). of = to.

Nahum 1:5 — The mountains quake, &c . Compare Micah 1:3 , Micah 1:4 . burned = upheaved. world . Hebrew. tebel = the world as inhabited.

Zechariah 12:12 — wives = women. Nathan. See 2 Samuel 5:14 . All those names are mentioned in the genealogy of Luke 3:0 .

Matthew 24:37 — shall = will. also the coming = the parousia (or presence) also. the coming = the parousia. See note on Matthew 24:3 .

Luke 8:32 — them = these. suffered them = gave them leave. Compare Mark 5:13 .Acts 21:39 , Acts 21:40 ; Acts 27:3 .
