turn unto Me. National repentance was ever the one great condition of Israel's national blessing (Deuteronomy 30:2 , &c.); and is still the condition. Compare Acts 3:19-21 , which, with Acts 28:17 , Acts 28:23 , was the last national call.

travail = toil that brings about fatigue. The same word as in Ecclesiastes 1:13 ; Ecclesiastes 2:26 ; Ecclesiastes 3:10 ; Ecclesiastes 4:8 ; Ecclesiastes 5:14 . Not the same word as in Ecclesiastes 4:4 , Ecclesiastes 4:6 . Occurs only in Ecclesiastes.
