Matthew 13:42 — ἐκεῖ ἔσται. etc.: considerado inapropiado aquí, porque el crujir de dientes es causado por el frío , no por el fuego (Holtz., HC); apropiado en Mateo 8:12 , donde la condenación es el rechazo a las tinieblas de afuera.

Luke 1:19 — Luke 1:19 . ἀποκριθεὶς : the very natural scepticism of Zechariah is treated as a fault. Γαβριὴλ : the naming of angels is characteristic of the later stage of Judaism ( vide Daniel 8:16 ; Daniel 10:21 ).

Luke 8:49 — Luke 8:49 . τις : one messenger, several in Mk.; one enough for the purpose. παρὰ τ . ἀρχ ., from the ruler = belonging to his house. Vide Mark 3:21 : οἱ παρʼ αὐτοῦ . Mk. has ἀπὸ here.

Luke 8:50 — Luke 8:50 . ἀκούσας : Mk. has παρακούσας , the message being spoken not to Jesus but to Jairus: He overheard it. μόνον πίστευσον , etc., only believe and she shall be saved Paulinism in the physical sphere.

Acts 10:2 — Acts 10:2 . ἑκατοντάρχης : form general in N.T., and so in later Greek, although χιλίαρχος is always retained in N.T., and ἑκατόνταρχος is also found, Matthew 8:5 ; Matthew 8:8 (W.H [237] ), Luke 7:2 , Acts 22:25 (W.H [238] ); so πατριάρχης , πολιτάρχης , ἐθνάρχης , see Winer-Schmiedel, p. 82, and note on forms employed in Josephus and LXX; W.H [239] , Appendix, p. 163; Blass, Gram. , pp. 28, 68; and Grimm-Thayer,

Acts 12:16 — Acts 12:16 . ἐπέμενε , cf. John 8:7 , with a participle as here; only found elsewhere in N.T. in Luke and Paul; see on Acts 10:48 . ἀνοίξ ., another natural touch; those assembled went to the door themselves.

Acts 13:40 — Acts 13:40 . ἐν τοῖς προφ ., cf. Luke 24:44 , and Acts 24:14 ; John 6:45 . ἐπέλθῃ : quite Lucan in this sense, cf. Acts 8:24 , Luke 11:22 ; Luke 21:26 (James 5:1 ).

Acts 23:12 — unless, etc. In N.T. the verb is only used in this passage, cf. 14, 21 and once by St.Mark, Mark 14:71 , cf. the use of the verb in LXX, Joshua 6:21 , 1Ma 5:5 . In N.T. the noun ἀνάθεμα is only found in Luke and Paul, see Lightfoot on Galatians 1:8 , Sanday and Headlam on Romans 9:3 . For instances of similar bindings by oath, Jos., Vita , liii, and a similar combination of ten men to murder Herod, Ant. , xv., 8, 3, 4. Acts 6:5 — in classical Greek; but ἐνώ . in this sense, so κατενώπιον ἔναντι κατέναντι , derived from the LXX ( ἐναντίον frequent in LXX, is also classical); cf., e.g. , Deuteronomy 1:23 A, 2 Samuel 3:36 , 1 Kings 3:10 ; 1 Kings 3:20 (1 Kings 3:21 ), Jeremiah 18:4 , Judges 7:16 ; Judges 13:20 , 1Ma 6:60 ; 1Ma 8:21 ( ἐναντίον , ), where the whole phrase occurs. Acts 8:10 — Acts 8:10 . ἡ δύναμις το͂υ Θεοῦ ἡ μεγάλη : in R.V. the power of God which is called ( καλουμένη ) Great, see above, critical notes. T.R. may have omitted the word because it appeared unsuitable to the context; but it could not have been used in a depreciatory

Romans 6:8 — Romans 6:8 . The Apostle now resumes his main thought. συνζήσομεν : see note on ἀνάστασις Romans 6:5 : there is no conscious separation of ethical and transcendent life with Christ to Paul it is one life.

(14), ἀναγεγεννημένοι with ἀναγεννήσας (3), φθαρτῆς with φθαρτοῖς (18), εὐαγγελισθέν with τῶν εὐαγγελισαμένων (12). It should be compared throughout with Ephesians 4:18-24 . τὰς … ἡγνικότες from Jeremiah 6:16 ,“ see what is the good way and walk in it and you shall find purification ( ἁγνισμόν LXX) to your souls
