Babylon
Isaiah 47:8 — 8. given to pleasures—(See on Isaiah 47:4). In no city were there so many incentives to licentiousness. I am . . . none . . . beside me— (Isaiah 47:10). Fully, and antitypically, the Gospel (Luke
Isaiah 6:10 — corrupt state of their hearts, to which God here judicially gives them over (Isaiah 63:17). GESENIUS takes the imperatives as futures. "Proclaim truths, the result of which proclamation will be their becoming the more hardened" (Romans 1:28; Ephesians 4:18); but this does not so well as the former set forth God as designedly giving up sinners to judicial hardening (Romans 11:8; 2 Thessalonians 2:11). In the first member of the sentence, the order is, the heart, ears, eyes; in the latter, the reverse

No remedy could be effectual against their corruptions since the very rulers sold justice for gifts [CALVIN]. MAURER
Zephaniah 3:19 — Israel's foes precedes Israel's restoration (Isaiah 66:15; Isaiah 66:16). her that halteth—all that are helpless. Their weakness will be no barrier in the way of My restoring them. So in Psalms 35:15, Margin, "halting" is used for adversity. Also Ezekiel 34:16; Micah 4:6; Micah 4:7. I will get them praise, &c.—literally, "I will make them (to become) a praise and a name," &c. shame— (Micah 4:7- :).
1 Corinthians 6:15 — 15.
