Psalms 34:1 — 1-4. Even in distress, which excites supplication, there is always matter for praising and thanking God (compare Ephesians 5:20; Philippians 4:6).
Psalms 52:5 — 5. likewise—or, "so," "also," as you have done to others God will do to you ( :-). The following terms describe the most entire ruin.
Psalms 6:3 — 3. how long?—shall this be so (compare Psalms 79:5). but—or, "and." thou—The sentence is incomplete as expressive of strong emotion.
Psalms 90:16 — 16. thy work—or, providential acts. thy glory— (Psalms 8:5; Psalms 45:3), the honor accruing from Thy work of mercy to us.

Proverbs 29:5 — 5. (Compare :-). spreadeth . . . feet—By misleading him as to his real character, the flatterer brings him to evil, prepared by himself or others.
Proverbs 3:2 — 2. length . . . life—often promised as blessings (Psalms 21:4; Psalms 91:16). peace—includes prosperity (Psalms 125:5). add—abound to thee.
Isaiah 2:5 — 5. The connection is: As Israel's high destiny is to be a blessing to all nations ( :-), let Israel's children walk worthy of it ( :-).
Isaiah 24:11 — 11. crying for wine—to drown their sorrows in drink (Isaiah 16:9); Joel 1:5, written about the same time, resembles this.
Jeremiah 4:5 — 5. cry, gather together—rather, "cry fully" that is, loudly. The Jews are warned to take measures against the impending Chaldean invasion (compare :-).
Ezekiel 7:17 — 17. shall be weak as water—literally, "shall go (as) waters"; incapable of resistance (Joshua 7:5; Psalms 22:14; Isaiah 13:7).
John 16:1 — 1-5. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended—both the warnings and the encouragements just given.
