Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand. — Or, The Lord God will come against the mighty Piscat., Diod. - i.e., Christ against the devil and his agents, whom he shall vanquish, and give them their due. See 1 John 3:6 Matthew 12:29 1 Chronicles 2:15; 1 Chronicles 2:151 Chronicles 2:15; 1 Chronicles 2:15 Hebrews 2:14 ).
And his arm shall rule for him. — Or, His arm shall rule over him - i.e., over Satan.

Talk with this my lord. — Prayer is a holy interparlance with the divine Majesty: εντευξις . 1 Timothy 2:1

Repentance towards God — Not a desperate repentance (as was that of Judas), that drives men from God, but such as draws them towards him, and brings them before him, submitting to his justice, and imploring his mercy, as at the meet at Mizpeh,1 Samuel 7:5; 1 Samuel 7:5 .
Faith towards Jesus Christ — Repentance is put first, because initial repentance is a preparation to effectual faith. See Mark 1:15 . See Trapp on " Mark 1:15 "
1 Peter 1:1
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
To the strangers — That is, to the provincial Jews. See Trapp on " James 1:1 " These strangers were (probably) those that came up to Jerusalem at Pentecost, and were converted by St Peter, Acts 2:7-11 ; Acts 2:41 , to whom therefore he here writes, as to newly born babes, 1 Peter 2:2 , and such as met with manifold afflictions
1 Peter 2:5 as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Ye also as lively stones — God’s house is built of growing stones, of green timber, Song of Solomon 1:16-17
To offer up spiritual sacrifices — Such as are prayers,Psalms 141:2; Psalms 141:2 ; praises, Hebrews 13:15 ; alms, Hebrews 13:16 ; ourselves, Romans 12:1 ; our Saviour, whom we present as a propitiation for our sins, 1 John 2:1 , laying

So Hannah rose up. — Fasting as she was - not in ease to eat, because in heaviness; compare Leviticus 10:19 , - she rose up to go to the place of worship and prayer, over against the most holy place. See 1 Samuel 1:15 ; 1 Samuel 1:18 .
Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat. — Without the tabernacle; for within it, sacerdotibus neque edere neque sedere
