Genesis 33:20 — And he erected there an altar, and called it Elelohe-Israel. And he erected there an altar. — (1.) As a memorial of the promises, and a symbol of God’s presence; (2.) Revelation 20:1 — And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
