Psalms 113:1
Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
Hallelujah — See Psalms 111:1 .
Praise, O ye servants of the Lord — None but such can do it, or are fit for it; and for such praise is comely, Psalms 147:1 , as unthankfulness is an ugly sin, but especially in ministers, those servants of the Lord, by a specialty.

Psalms 41:12 is yet in safety. My faith faileth me not, nor yet mine innocence in regard of men, or the righteousness of my cause.
And settest me before thy face for ever — So that, being never out of thy sight, I cannot possibly be out of thy mind. Confer 1 Kings 17:1 .
Proverbs 26:6

Jeremiah 17:7

Be astonished, O heavens! — A poetic and pathetic expression. Compare Deuteronomy 32:1 Isaiah 1:2 .
Be horribly afraid. — Horripilamini portento malitiae, quod iam dicturus sum; be aghast at such a prodigious wickedness.
Be very desolate. — As the sun seemed to be, when at the death of Christ he hid his head in a mantle of

Flee out of the midst of Babylon. — See Jeremiah 18:1-23 . So, in the Hew Testament, we are called upon to flee and avoid the corruptions of the world and of Antichrist. 1 John 2:7-8 Ephesians 5:6 Revelation 14:3-5 ; Revelation 18:4
For this is a time, … — As Jeremiah 50:15 ; Jeremiah 50:25

Matthew 23:38 desolate.
Behold, your house is left, … — City and temple both. God will not always stand men for a sinning stock. They that will not hear his word, shall hear his rod, and feel his sword too. Elisha hath his sword as well as Jehu and Hazael,1 Kings 19:17; 1 Kings 19:17 , and the one usually precedes the other. They therefore that say, Following of sermons will make men beggars, forget that to take away the gospel from Jerusalem was to leave their houses as well as God’s house desolate.
