Terah begat Abram. — Who whether he were Terah’s firstborn, is a great question; but, being an important man, he is first mentioned. (Abram was not Terah’s first born. Genesis 11:32 ; Genesis 12:4 This means that Terah was 130 years old when he begot Abram. Editor.)

And a mixed multitude. — Of strangers, that "took hold of the skirts of these Jews, and said, We will go with you," Zechariah 8:23 but afterwards turned tippet, Numbers 11:4 lusted greatly and greedily, and made Israel to sin. Coals touched will either burn or sully us.
Exodus 16:31 — And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it [was] like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it [was] like wafers [made] with honey. And the taste of it. — It had not all manner of good tastes, according to every man’s appetite, Numbers 11:8 else why should the people lust and murmur as there they did? Exodus 16:4-5
Exodus 16:33 — And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. Take a pot. — A golden pot. Hebrews 9:4 Strabo Geog. writeth, that the Metapontini, after a plentiful harvest which had much enriched them, dedicated to Apollo at Delphi χρυσουν θερος , a harvest of gold.
Exodus 19:15 — And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at [your] wives. Be ready against the third day. — If the word of a command expected such readiness, what shall the word of promise? … Come not at your wives. — For the legal uncleanness that was in it, Leviticus 15:18 1 Samuel 21:4 figuring the filth of original sin.
Exodus 40:36 — And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: The children of Israel went. — The Jews conceive that this cloud that led Israel through the wilderness, levelled mountains, raised valleys, and laid all aflat: that it burnt up bushes, and smoothed rocks, and made all plain, … See Luke 3:5 Isaiah 4:5
Ver. 4. Y sabréis que yo he enviado, etc. ] Es decir, sabrás por experiencia lamentable, tu castigo te anunciará; la maldición adjunta al mandamiento te enseñará, como Gedeón enseñó a los hombres de Sucot, sc. con espinos y cardos del desierto, Jueces 8:16
Matthew 12:18 — enfáticamente, "su alma amada", Jeremias 12:7 ; εδωκα την ηγαπημενην ψυχην μου, Dilectam animam meam, Vulgate.
Matthew 20:31 — El diablo nos interrumpirá, como lo hizo la pitonisa con Pablo, Hechos 16:16 ; como hicieron las aves con Abraham, Génesis 15:11 ; como esos samaritanos hicieron con los judíos en la construcción del templo, Neh 6: 1-19. Por eso se nos Colosenses 4:2 en oración, Colosenses 4:2 , y velemos en oración; porque Satanás estará a nuestra diestra, como a Josué, Zacarías 3:1, vigilando su tiempo para lanzar, si no un pensamiento profano, pero impertinente, privándonos así del beneficio de nuestras oraciones;
Romans 14:9 — For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. That he might be Lord — He won his crown before he wore it; he fought for it, and having vanquished all enemies, he accomplished and proclaimed the victory in his glorious resurrection, triumphed in his wonderful ascension, leading captivity captive, …, Ephesians 4:8 .
Romans 5:1 — Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Being justified by faith — As he had said, Romans 4:24 . We have peace with God — A blessed calm lodged in our consciences; like as when Jonah was cast overboard, there followed a tranquillity. This is that continual feast, a very heaven beforehand, an anticipation of glory, ουρανος
Romans 6:13 — Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 1 Corinthians 12:20 — But now are they many members, yet but one body. But now are they many members, … — 1. Use; 2. Necessity; 3. Honour; 4. Comeliness, 5. Mutual consent, -commend these things. Let every man try his membership (1. If sociable with Christ and his people; 2. If useful and serviceable to the body; 3. If sensible and compassionate, …, being himself also in the body), as was before advised.
Ephesians 2:18 — For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. We both have an access — With good assurance of success. The Persian kings held it a piece of their silly glory to hold off their best friends, who might not come near them but upon special licence, Ezra 4:11 . Not so our king. 1 Peter 5:10 — But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you .
