Verse 2

David perceived, by the remembrance of God’s promise, and his providence complying with it, &c. But of this and the following verses, See Poole "2 Samuel 5:12", &c., where the same history is related.

Verse 17

Into all lands, i.e. into all the neighbouring countries.
