Outline - Here is a proposed outline for Psalm Five:

Psalm 5:1-3 - Direction of prayer - towards God

Psalm 5:4-6 - Description of God's character

Psalm 5:7

Psalm 5:8 - Prayer for guidance

Psalm 5:9-10 - Prayer against the wicked

Psalm 5:11-12

Psalm 5:6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

Psalm 5:6Word Study on "leasing" - Webster says the English word "leasing" means, "Or, "the act of lying, falsehood, a lie."

Psalm 5:9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

Psalm 5:9Word Study on "faithfulness" - Webster gives the following synonyms for "faithfulness" as "Trusty; honest; upright; sincere; veracious; trustworthy."

Psalm 5:9 — "their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue" - Comments- Paul quotes from Psalm 5:9 when he concludes that both Jews and Gentiles are under sin ( Romans 3:13). The rest of Romans 3:13 comes from Psalm 140:3.

Romans 3:13, "Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:"

Psalm 140:3, "They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders" poison is under their lips. Selah."
