KEPT EVER FRESH
Mark 14:17-26
On the very eve of Judas’ faithlessness, and of his own suffering, Jesus was thinking of others. He was planning that by the taking of sacred bread and the cup, in the coming years, in the midst of persecution and temptation, of hardship and ease, we might ever keep fresh in mind his deathless, dying love. Even so, if the heart’s attuned, every breaking of common bread may remind us of him, and help to hold us true.
