I am doing something new; it's springing up—can't you see it? (Isaiah 43:19)

It was a sea of people in the nation's capital. One millionmen gathered from every city and state of this country to humble themselves before the Lord God. After wading through the packed crowd, my brother and I finally came to a small place in the center where we could stand with our friends. The assembly was beginning and a mass of men stood to their feet in unison. Suddenly, I could see a giant kippah (head covering) and tallit (prayer shawl) appear on the fifty foot high projection screens that lined the mall area. "Who is that?" I wondered. Was I dreaming? No, it truly was a Messianic Jew. He was opening the event.

Before a million men, from every stream in the body of Messiah, this Messianic leader declared the occasion a sacred assembly and explained that it was Shabbat Shuvah, the Sabbath in the middle of the Yamim Nora'im (Days of Awe). Then, making a sound that I'm sure was heard in heaven, several Messianic Jewish men lifted triple twisted shofars (rams horns) and blew them. The blasts resonated throughout the mall area and the streets of Washington, D. C. The men loved it! All one million of them shouted, raised their hands and clapped. I kept wondering, "Am I dreaming?" In the afternoon, I went home and saw two Messianic Jewish leaders on network television. We live in extraordinary times; God is doing something new. Can you see it?

...ask the Lord to bless those throughout the world who hear the sound of the shofar on Shabbat Shuvah. "Lord, may they be used by you."
