Martyr (304), died Sirmium (modern Yugoslavia), in the Diocletian persecution. Later her cultus spread to Rome, where her church today gives its title to a cardinal-priest. Her name occurs in the prayer "Nobis quoque peccatoribus" in the Canon of the Mass, and she has the unique distinction of a special commemoration in the second Mass on Christmas.
