Comprises the state of Idaho. Founded on March 3, 1868 as the Vicariate Apostolic of Idaho and Montana. The territory was divided, and it was renamed the Vicariate Apostolic of Idaho on March 5, 1883. Elevated to the diocese of Boise City on August 25, 1893. Suffragan of the archdiocese of Portland, Oregon.
