Hymn for Lauds from the 3Sunday after Pentecost until the Sunday nearest October 1,. It was written by Pope Saint Gregory the Great (540-604). There are 15 translations. The English title given is by M. Blacker, whose translation is.based on the original text, but has been partly changed to suit the text of the Roman Breviary.
