Catholic physicist. Born on April 4, 1826 at Jehay, Belgium; died on January 20, 1901 at Bois-Colombes, France. Invented independently, and promoted the extensive use of the ring-wound armature dynamo which another Catholic, Antonio Pacinotti had invented in 1860.
