A hymn-writer who flourished in Germany about 1096; probably the son of Isaac ben Eleazar ha-Kohen, who lived in Mentz in 1093. He is the author of several liturgical works, in one of which reference is made to the cruelties perpetrated upon the Jews by the crusaders. He composed several yoẓerot for Sabbath Ḥanukkah, in one of which the story of Judith and Holofernes is repeated.
