Turkish rabbi of the fifteenth century; born at Arta in the Morea. Calñi is the author of responsa entitled "Mishpeṭe Shemuel," and printed by his nephew at Venice, 1599-1600. He was the son-in-law of Benjamin b. Mattathias, author of "Benjamin Ze'eb," as the latter says in a responsum.
