German physician; born at Hamm, Westphalia, July 19, 1866; educated at the universities of Munich, Rostock, Leipsic, and Bonn; graduated as doctor of medicine at Bonn in 1890. The following three years he was surgeon in the German merchant navy. Returning to Europe, hetook a postgraduate course in Berlin and Paris. Since 1894 he has practised in Berlin as a specialist in throat diseases. He wrote: "Ueber Stottern" (1893); "Mädchen-Turnen" (1896); "Weibliche Gymnastik" (1897); "Einfache Verbäude" (1902).
