Kalischer, Judah Löb ben Moses

German Talmudist; died April 18, 1822, at Lissa, where he was dayyan. Kalischer was the head of the yeshibah of Lissa for more than fifty years, during which time he had a great number of pupils. He wrote "Ha-Yad ha-Ḥazaḳah" (Breslau, 1820), novellæ on the laws of Ḥazaḳah.
