Dutch mathematician; born in Poland about 1760; died Jan. 15, 1836; buried at Ouerveen. A disciple of Moses Mendelssohn, he removed to Amsterdam, where he became one of the most important members of the 'Adat Yeshurun congregation. With C. Asser and Lemon he was appointed a deputation to the Sanhedrin at Paris, where he delivered a discourse in the German language (Feb. 12, 1807).

Litwack was a member of the Mathesis Artium Genetrix society. He wrote "Verhandeling Over de Proefgetallen Gen. 11," Amsterdam, 1817 (2d ed., 1821).
