Hungarian jurist; born Feb. 7, 1847, in Ugra. He studied at Nagyvarad, Debreczin, Budapest, and Vienna (Doctor of Law, 1870), and was admitted to the bar at Budapest in 1872. He is (1905) a member of the aldermanic board, and corresponding member of the chamber of commerce and industry. In 1893 he was commissioned by the minister of justice, Desider Szilágyi, to draft a bill for the revision of the laws pertaining to bankruptcy, as well as one regulating extrajudicial questions. In 1896 he was made a knight of the Order of Francis Joseph.

Schreyer is the author of the following works: "A Perorvoslatok Teljes Rendszere," a system of legal procedure, awarded a prize of 100 ducats by the Academy of Science, Budapest; "A Polgéri Törvénykezési Rendtartés," in 2 vols., treating of procedure in civil cases; "25 é?v a Magyar Kereskedelmi Csarnok Történetéböl," a history of the Hungarian chamber of commerce, printed in 1896 under the auspices of the Hungarian ministry of commerce.
