Palestinian amora of uncertain period. He interpreted Psalms 92:13 as meaning that even as the shade of the palm-tree extends far and wide, so shall the reward of the pious extend to the future world (Shoḥer Ṭob to Psalms 92; Gen. R. , beginning). With reference to Psalms 57:9, he said that David procured an eolian harp in order that its tones might awaken him for midnight prayer (Ber. 4a).
