אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ

וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim;

בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

of his mother

[was] Jehoaddan

yə·hō·w·‘ad·dān

יְהוֹעַדָּ֖ן

of Jerusalem

mî·rū·šā·lā·yim.

מִירוּשָׁלָֽיִם׃

[that that was] right

in the sight

with a perfect

Now it came to pass

was established

ham·mam·lā·ḵāh

הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה

way·ya·hă·rōḡ

וַֽיַּהֲרֹג֙

his servants

that had killed

their children

do But he slew

[it is] as written

bat·tō·w·rāh

and shall the children

for his own sin

and assembled

וַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץ

Moreover Amaziah

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

way·ya·‘ă·mî·ḏêm

וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֣ם

according to the houses

[their] of fathers

under commanders

over thousands

hā·’ă·lā·p̄îm

and captains

over hundreds

ham·mê·’ō·wṯ,

throughout all

throughout all Judah

and Benjamin

ū·ḇin·yā·min;

וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן

and he numbered

way·yip̄·qə·ḏêm,

וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֗ם

and found them

way·yim·ṣā·’êm,

וַיִּמְצָאֵ֗ם

[men able] to go forth

that could handle

and He hired

וַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣ר

out of Israel

mî·yiś·rā·’êl,

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

also a hundred

for one hundred

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

But there came

of Israel you

’ep̄·rā·yim.

for the battle

lam·mil·ḥā·māh;

לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה

shall make you fall

yaḵ·šî·lə·ḵā

יַכְשִֽׁילְךָ֤

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

and to cast down

ū·lə·haḵ·šîl.

וּלְהַכְשִֽׁיל׃

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

for the hundred

hak·kik·kār,

I have given

to the troops

And answered

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים

Then separated

way·yaḇ·dî·lêm

וַיַּבְדִּילֵ֣ם

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū,

אֲמַצְיָ֗הוּ

lə·hag·gə·ḏūḏ

לְהַגְּדוּד֙

from Ephraim

mê·’ep̄·ra·yim,

מֵֽאֶפְרַ֔יִם

lim·qō·w·mām;

Why their anger

against Judah

בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה

and they returned

way·yā·šū·ḇū

וַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּ

lim·qō·w·mām

wa·’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

וַאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

strengthened

hiṯ·ḥaz·zaq,

and led forth

to the valley

[other] And ten

wa·‘ă·śe·reṯ

[left] alive

carry away captive

did the children

and brought them

וַיְבִיא֖וּם

and cast them down

way·yaš·lî·ḵūm

וַיַּשְׁלִיכ֛וּם

from the top

that they all

were broken in pieces

But the soldiers

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

lam·mil·ḥā·māh,

לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה

way·yip̄·šə·ṭū

וַֽיִּפְשְׁטוּ֙

from Samaria

miš·šō·mə·rō·wn

מִשֹּׁמְר֖וֹן

thousand them

way·yā·ḇōz·zū

וַיָּבֹ֖זּוּ

Now it came to pass

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

from slaughtering

mê·hak·kō·wṯ

of the Edomites

’ă·ḏō·w·mîm,

that he brought

and set them up

way·ya·‘ă·mî·ḏêm

וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֥ם

[to be] his gods

wə·lip̄·nê·hem

וְלִפְנֵיהֶ֥ם

bowed down himself

yiš·ta·ḥă·weh

יִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה

and burned incense

and was kindled

Why the anger

against Amaziah

ba·’ă·maṣ·yā·hū;

בַּאֲמַצְיָ֑הוּ

וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח

and that said

have you sought after

דָרַ֙שְׁתָּ֙

of the people

their own people

from your hand

mî·yā·ḏe·ḵā.

And it came to pass

As he was talking

bə·ḏab·bə·rōw

בְּדַבְּר֣וֹ

hal·yō·w·‘êṣ

are you made

nə·ṯan·nū·ḵā,

should you be struck

then forbore

וַיֶּחְדַּ֣ל

has determined

to destroy you

lə·haš·ḥî·ṯe·ḵā,

לְהַשְׁחִיתֶ֔ךָ

you have done

to my counsel

la·‘ă·ṣā·ṯî.

Then took advice

way·yiw·wā·‘aṣ,

וַיִּוָּעַ֗ץ

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח

yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz

let us see one another

וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ

bal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn,

בַּלְּבָנ֗וֹן

bal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn

בַּלְּבָנוֹן֙

your daughter

and there passed by

wat·ta·‘ă·ḇōr

וַֽתַּעֲבֹ֞ר

bal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn,

בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן

and trod down

you have struck

the Edomites

and lifts you up

ū·nə·śā·’ă·ḵā

וּנְשָׂאֲךָ֥

לְהַכְבִּ֑יד

bə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā,

should you meddle

[thine] to hurt

that you should fall

wə·nā·p̄al·tā,

וְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔

[even] and Judah

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū,

אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ

it was from God

mê·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

מֵהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

[is] to the end that

he might deliver them

into the hand

[of their enemies] they sought after

and they saw one another

way·yiṯ·rā·’ū

וַיִּתְרָא֣וּ

[both] and Amaziah

wa·’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

וַאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ

at Beth-shemesh

[belongeth] to Judah

And was put to the worse

way·yin·nā·ḡep̄

וַיִּנָּ֥גֶף

and they fled

way·yā·nu·sū

lə·’ō·hā·lāw.

לְאֹהָלָֽיו׃

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֨הוּ

yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz,

at Beth-shemesh

and brought him

way·ḇî·’ê·hū

וַיְבִיאֵ֙הוּ֙

to Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and broke down

way·yip̄·rōṣ

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם

from the Gate

to the corner

hap·pō·w·neh,

[he took] the gold

and the silver

wə·hak·ke·sep̄

that were found

han·nim·ṣə·’îm

הַנִּמְצְאִ֨ים

in the house

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

the treasures

the hostages

hat·ta·‘ă·ru·ḇō·wṯ;

הַתַּֽעֲרֻב֑וֹת

and returned

šō·mə·rō·wn.

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֤הוּ

yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz

Now the rest

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū,

אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ

hā·ri·šō·nîm

הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים

wə·hā·’a·ḥă·rō·w·nîm;

וְהָאַחֲרוֹנִ֑ים

[are] written

of the Kings

wə·yiś·rā·’êl.

וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Now after the time

did turn away

that Amaziah

’ă·maṣ·yā·hū

אֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙

from following

and they made

way·yiq·šə·rū

וַיִּקְשְׁר֨וּ

a conspiracy him

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim

בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

but they sent

way·yiš·lə·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ

to Lachish him

and slew him

way·mî·ṯu·hū

וַיְמִיתֻ֖הוּ

And they brought

way·yiś·śā·’u·hū

וַיִּשָּׂאֻ֖הוּ

way·yiq·bə·rū

וַֽיִּקְבְּר֥וּ
