’ep̄·ra·yim,

[is] a fading

whose majestic

ṯip̄·’ar·tōw;

תִפְאַרְתּ֑וֹ

of those who are overcome

has a mighty

and strong one

[which] as a tempest

a destroying

כַּבִּירִ֥ים

shall cast down

to the earth

with [His] hand

bə·raḡ·la·yim

בְּרַגְלַ֖יִם

shall be trodden

tê·rā·mas·nāh;

תֵּֽרָמַ֑סְנָה

’ep̄·rā·yim.

and shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

וְֽהָ֨יְתָ֜ה

the majestic

ṯip̄·’ar·tōw,

תִפְאַרְתּ֔וֹ

as the hasty fruit

kə·ḇik·kū·rāh

כְּבִכּוּרָהּ֙

[when] he who looks

while it is yet

as it is in his hand

he eats it up

yiḇ·lā·‘en·nāh.

יִבְלָעֶֽנָּה׃

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

la·‘ă·ṭe·reṯ

and for a diadem

wə·liṣ·p̄î·raṯ

וְלִצְפִירַ֖ת

tip̄·’ā·rāh;

to the remnant

of his people

for a spirit

for him who sits

lay·yō·wō·šêḇ

ham·miš·pāṭ,

הַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט

and for strength

wə·liḡ·ḇū·rāh,

וְלִ֨גְבוּרָ֔ה

to those who repel

and through strong drink

ū·ḇaš·šê·ḵār

וּבַשֵּׁכָ֖ר

are out of the way

and the prophet

through strong drink

they are swallowed up

they are out of the way

strong drink

they stumble

[in] judgment

pə·lî·lî·yāh.

פְּלִילִיָּֽה׃

šul·ḥā·nō·wṯ,

שֻׁלְחָנ֔וֹת

[so that there is] place

shall he teach

shall he make to understand

from the breast

miš·šā·ḏā·yim.

מִשָּׁדָֽיִם׃

with stammering

ū·ḇə·lā·šō·wn

וּבְלָשׁ֖וֹן

will he speak

[is] the rest

ham·mə·nū·ḥāh

הַמְּנוּחָה֙

to the weary

[is] the refreshing

ham·mar·gê·‘āh;

הַמַּרְגֵּעָ֑ה

do yet they would

But the word

to them precept

to the end that

they might go

and be broken

wə·niš·bā·rū,

וְנִשְׁבָּ֔רוּ

וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ

wə·nil·kā·ḏū.

וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ׃

[is] in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim.

בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

you have said

We have made

כָּרַ֤תְנֽוּ

shall pass through

yə·ḇō·w·’ê·nū,

we have made

and under falsehood

ū·ḇaš·še·qer

וּבַשֶּׁ֥קֶר

have we hid ourselves

nis·tā·rə·nū.

נִסְתָּֽרְנוּ׃

[stone] for a foundation

he who believes

ham·ma·’ă·mîn

הַֽמַּאֲמִ֖ין

do make haste

also will I lay

וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י

and righteousness

to the plummet

lə·miš·qā·leṯ;

לְמִשְׁקָ֑לֶת

and shall sweep away

and the hiding place

shall overflow

יִשְׁטֹֽפוּ׃

And shall be disannulled

your covenant

bə·rî·ṯə·ḵem

בְּרִֽיתְכֶם֙

and your agreement

wə·ḥā·zū·ṯə·ḵem

וְחָזוּתְכֶ֥ם

the overflowing

shall pass through

then you shall be

trodden down

that it goes forth

it shall take

shall it pass over

and by night

ū·ḇal·lā·yə·lāh;

וּבַלָּ֑יְלָה

and it shall be

[to] understand

on that to stretch

mê·hiś·tā·rê·a‘;

מֵֽהִשְׂתָּרֵ֑עַ

[on it] and the covering

wə·ham·mas·sê·ḵāh

וְהַמַּסֵּכָ֥ה

kə·hiṯ·kan·nês.

כְּהִתְכַּנֵּֽס׃

[in] as mount

shall rise up

For the LORD

[in] as the valley

bə·ḡiḇ·‘ō·wn

בְּגִבְע֣וֹן

he shall be angry

מַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙

ma·‘ă·śê·hū,

and bring to pass

wə·la·‘ă·ḇōḏ

‘ă·ḇō·ḏā·ṯōw,

nā·ḵə·rî·yāh

‘ă·ḇō·ḏā·ṯōw.

therefore be you not mockers

tiṯ·lō·w·ṣā·ṣū,

תִּתְלוֹצָ֔צוּ

be made strong

mō·ws·rê·ḵem;

מֽוֹסְרֵיכֶ֑ם

a consumption

and even determined

wə·ne·ḥĕ·rā·ṣāh

וְנֶחֱרָצָ֜ה

for I have heard

שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי

Give you ear

הַקְשִׁ֥יבוּ

does the plowman

does he open

break the clods

וִֽישַׂדֵּ֖ד

of his ground

he has made plain

and cast abroad

and the cummin

in the principal

the appointed

wə·ḵus·se·meṯ

in their place

gə·ḇu·lā·ṯōw.

גְּבֻלָתֽוֹ׃

and does instruct him

wə·yis·sə·rōw

to discretion

לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט

yō·w·ren·nū.

with a threshing

wə·’ō·w·p̄an

neither is a cart

with a staff

are beaten out

and the cummin

בַּשָּֽׁבֶט׃

[grain] is bruised

be threshing it

yə·ḏū·šen·nū;

יְדוּשֶׁ֑נּוּ

[it with] the wheel

[with] it his horsemen

ū·p̄ā·rā·šāw

וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו

yə·ḏuq·qen·nū.

יְדֻקֶּֽנּוּ׃

[which] is wonderful

תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃
