wə·laḥ·sō·wṯ

Therefore shall the strength

and the trust

wə·he·ḥā·sūṯ

in the shadow

liḵ·lim·māh.

לִכְלִמָּֽה׃

and his ambassadors

ū·mal·’ā·ḵāw

וּמַלְאָכָ֖יו

lə·hō·w·‘îl,

for reproach

לְחֶרְפָּֽה׃

concerning the beasts

of the south

into the land

[come] from where the young

and old lion

mə·‘ō·w·p̄êp̄,

they will carry

of young donkeys

their riches

their treasures

’ō·wṣ·rō·ṯām,

אֽוֹצְרֹתָ֔ם

do [that] profit

For the Egyptians

ū·miṣ·ra·yim

וּמִצְרַ֕יִם

and to no purpose

have I cried

concerning this

Their strength

[is] to sit still

that it may be

’a·ḥă·rō·wn,

[is] a rebellious

do [that] will

to the seers

and to the prophets

wə·la·ḥō·zîm,

וְלַ֣חֹזִ֔ים

right things

nə·ḵō·ḥō·wṯ;

smooth things

ḥă·lā·qō·wṯ,

ma·hă·ṯal·lō·wṯ.

מַהֲתַלּֽוֹת׃

הַשְׁבִּ֥יתוּ

mip·pā·nê·nū

מִפָּנֵ֖ינוּ

cause the Holy One

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

the Holy One

mā·’ā·sə·ḵem

wat·tiḇ·ṭə·ḥū

וַֽתִּבְטְחוּ֙

in oppression

and perverseness

wə·nā·lō·wz,

wat·tiš·šā·‘ă·nū

וַתִּֽשָּׁעֲנ֖וּ

to you as a breach

ready to fall

swelling out

נִשְׂגָּבָ֑ה

in an instant

and he shall break

וּ֠שְׁבָרָהּ

it as the breaking

of the potter

that is broken in pieces

among its pieces

ḇim·ḵit·tā·ṯōw

בִמְכִתָּתוֹ֙

of it a shard

from a hearth

from a cistern

In repentance

shall you be saved

tiw·wā·šê·‘ūn,

תִּוָּ֣שֵׁע֔וּן

In quietness

בְּהַשְׁקֵט֙

and in confidence

ū·ḇə·ḇiṭ·ḥāh,

וּבְבִטְחָ֔ה

your strength

gə·ḇū·raṯ·ḵem;

גְּבֽוּרַתְכֶ֑ם

do you would

But you said

wat·tō·mə·rū

וַתֹּ֨אמְר֥וּ

we will flee

shall you flee

We will ride

you be swift

shall they who pursue

rō·ḏə·p̄ê·ḵem.

רֹדְפֵיכֶֽם׃

[shall flee] at

shall you flee

nō·w·ṯar·tem,

נוֹתַרְתֶּ֗ם

of a mountain

and as an ensign

hag·giḇ·‘āh.

הַגִּבְעָֽה׃

And therefore

to be gracious

la·ḥă·nan·ḵem,

לַֽחֲנַנְכֶ֔ם

And therefore

will he be exalted

lə·ra·ḥem·ḵem;

לְרַֽחֶמְכֶ֑ם

they who wait

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim;

בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

you shall weep no more

he will be very

to you at the sound

za·‘ă·qe·ḵā,

when he shall hear it

kə·šā·mə·‘ā·ṯōw

כְּשָׁמְעָת֖וֹ

He will answer

[yough] And the Lord you

of adversity

and the water

of oppression

do be removed into a corner

your teachers

And your ears

wə·’ā·zə·ne·ḵā

וְאָזְנֶ֙יךָ֙

תִּשְׁמַ֣עְנָה

mê·’a·ḥă·re·ḵā

מֵֽאַחֲרֶ֖יךָ

[is] the way

you turn to the right hand

you turn to the left

ṯaś·mə·’î·lū.

תַשְׂמְאִֽילוּ׃

and you shall defile

wə·ṭim·mê·ṯem,

וְטִמֵּאתֶ֗ם

also the covering

of your graven images

the ornament

of your molten images

zə·hā·ḇe·ḵā;

you shall cast them away

a menstruous cloth

Get you here

you shall say

Then shall he give

of your offspring

you shall sow

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh,

of the increase

of the earth

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh,

and it shall be

and plenteous

your livestock

and The oxen

wə·hā·’ă·lā·p̄îm

וְהָאֲלָפִ֣ים

that likewise and the young donkeys

wə·hā·‘ă·yā·rîm,

וְהָעֲיָרִ֗ים

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh,

has been winnowed

and with the fan

ū·ḇam·miz·reh.

וּבַמִּזְרֶֽה׃

And there shall be

of the great

when the towers

מִגְדָּלִֽים׃

and shall be

hal·lə·ḇā·nāh

as the light

and the light

šiḇ·‘ā·ṯa·yim,

שִׁבְעָתַ֔יִם

as the light

that the LORD

of his people

and the stroke

of their wound

from a remote

mim·mer·ḥāq,

[with] his anger

and [thereof is] heavy

of indignation

and his tongue

ū·lə·šō·w·nōw

וּלְשׁוֹנ֖וֹ

as a devouring

And his breath

as an overflowing

shall reach to the middle

la·hă·nā·p̄āh

[there shall be] and a bridle

[them] causing to err

of the people

you shall have

as in the night

hiṯ·qad·deš-

הִתְקַדֶּשׁ־

and gladness

as when one marches

כַּֽהוֹלֵךְ֙

to [the sound of] the flute

to the mountain

the mighty One

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And to be heard

wə·hiš·mî·a‘

וְהִשְׁמִ֨יעַ

shall cause his majestic

and the lighting down

[his] of anger

[with] and the flames

of a devouring

’ō·w·ḵê·lāh;

[with] scattering

and hailstones

at the voice

shall be beaten down

the Assyrian

with the staff

[which] struck him

of the staff

of punishment

Will be with [the music of] tambourines

ū·ḇə·ḵin·nō·rō·wṯ;

וּבְכִנֹּר֑וֹת

and in battles

ū·ḇə·mil·ḥă·mō·wṯ

וּבְמִלְחֲמ֥וֹת

will he fight

[is] ordained

מֵֽאֶתְמוּל֙

for the king

is prepared [it]

he has made deep

mə·ḏu·rā·ṯāh,

[is] thereof fire

like a stream

of brimstone
