wə·yiś·rā·’êl

וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

whom I have chosen

בָּחַ֥רְתִּי

you and formed you

wə·yō·ṣer·ḵā

from the womb

[which] will help

ya‘·zə·re·kā;

יַעְזְרֶ֑ךָּ

whom I have chosen

בָּחַ֥רְתִּי

who is thirsty

wə·nō·zə·lîm

the dry ground

your offspring

and my blessing

וּבִרְכָתִ֖י

your offspring

ṣe·’ĕ·ṣā·’e·ḵā.

צֶאֱצָאֶֽיךָ׃

And they shall spring up

ka·‘ă·rā·ḇîm

כַּעֲרָבִ֖ים

of [am] the LORD

shall subscribe

[with] his hand

[himself] by the name

and his redeemer

wə·ḡō·’ă·lōw

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ;

’a·ḥă·rō·wn,

and beside me

ū·mib·bal·‘ā·ḏay

וּמִבַּלְעָדַ֖י

[there is] God

and shall declare it

wə·yag·gî·ḏe·hā

וְיַגִּידֶ֤הָ

and set it in order

wə·ya‘·rə·ḵe·hā

וְיַעְרְכֶ֙הָ֙

From the time that I established

and the things that are coming

wə·’ō·ṯî·yō·wṯ

וְאֹתִיּ֛וֹת

let them show

have not you

from that time

hiš·ma‘·tî·ḵā

הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֥יךָ

and have declared

wə·hig·gaḏ·tî

וְהִגַּ֖דְתִּי

and you [are]

even my witnesses

mib·bal·‘ā·ḏay,

מִבַּלְעָדַ֔י

[there is] God

yā·ḏā·‘ə·tî.

יָדָֽעְתִּי׃

they who make

a graven image

of them vanity

and their delectable things

wa·ḥă·mū·ḏê·hem

וַחֲמוּדֵיהֶ֖ם

and [are] their own witnesses

wə·‘ê·ḏê·hem

to the end that

they may be ashamed

and a graven image

[that] is profitable

shall be ashamed

and the workmen

wə·ḥā·rā·šîm

וְחָרָשִׁ֥ים

be gathered together

yiṯ·qab·bə·ṣū

יִֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ

Let them all

let them stand up

ya·‘ă·mō·ḏū,

[yet] they shall fear

they shall be ashamed

The man shapes

into a cutting

and both works

over the coals

and it with hammers

ū·ḇam·maq·qā·ḇō·wṯ

וּבַמַּקָּב֖וֹת

yiṣ·ṣə·rê·hū;

way·yip̄·‘ā·lê·hū

וַיִּפְעָלֵ֙הוּ֙

it with the strength

he is hungry

his strength

do he drinks

and is faint

way·yî·‘āp̄.

stretches out

he marks it out

yə·ṯā·’ă·rê·hū

יְתָאֲרֵ֣הוּ

יַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙

it with planes

bam·maq·ṣu·‘ō·wṯ,

בַּמַּקְצֻע֔וֹת

and with the edge

ū·ḇam·mə·ḥū·ḡāh

וּבַמְּחוּגָ֖ה

he marks it out

yə·ṯā·’o·rê·hū;

יְתָאֳרֵ֑הוּ

way·ya·‘ă·śê·hū

וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙

it after the figure

כְּתַבְנִ֣ית

according to the beauty

kə·ṯip̄·’e·reṯ

כְּתִפְאֶ֥רֶת

that it may remain

He hews him down

wə·’al·lō·wn,

and that he strengthens

way·’am·meṣ-

for himself among the trees

of the forest

and the rain

does nourish

Then shall it be

for he will take

he kindles [it]

and worships [it]

way·yiš·tā·ḥū,

וַיִּשְׁתָּ֔חוּ

it a graven image

and falls down

way·yis·gāḏ-

וַיִּסְגָּד־

thereof he eats

and is satisfied

וְיִשְׂבָּ֑ע

[himself] and said

and the residue

ū·šə·’ê·rî·ṯōw,

וּשְׁאֵ֣רִית֔וֹ

thereof he makes

[even] his graven image

lə·p̄is·lōw;

he falls down

he falls down

and worshipeth [it]

wə·yiš·ta·ḥū

וְיִשְׁתַּ֙חוּ֙

wə·yiṯ·pal·lêl

וְיִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל

haṣ·ṣî·lê·nî,

הַצִּילֵ֔נִי

that they cannot see

that they cannot understand

מֵהַשְׂכִּ֖יל

their hearts

[is there] knowledge

understanding

I have burned

שָׂרַ֣פְתִּי

also I have baked

I have roasted

and the residue

of it into an abomination [it]

lə·ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh

and shall I make

to the stock

shall I fall down

has turned him aside

[Is there] a lie

בִּימִינִֽי׃

wə·yiś·rā·’êl

וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

I have formed [are]

yə·ṣar·tî·ḵā

יְצַרְתִּ֤יךָ

do be forgotten

ṯin·nā·šê·nî.

תִנָּשֵֽׁנִי׃

I have blotted out

as a thick cloud

your transgressions

pə·šā·‘e·ḵā,

פְּשָׁעֶ֔יךָ

and as a cloud

wə·ḵe·‘ā·nān

ḥaṭ·ṭō·w·ṯe·ḵā;

חַטֹּאותֶ֑יךָ

I have redeemed

ḡə·’al·tî·ḵā.

גְאַלְתִּֽיךָ׃

O you heavens

taḥ·tî·yō·wṯ

תַּחְתִּיּ֣וֹת

of the earth

break forth you

into singing

has redeemed

and in Israel

ū·ḇə·yiś·rā·’êl

וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

glorified himself

יִתְפָּאָֽר׃

your redeemer

gō·’ă·le·ḵā,

and he who formed you

wə·yō·ṣer·ḵā

from the womb

[things] that stretches forth

that spreads abroad

and makes diviners

wə·qō·sə·mîm

yə·hō·w·lêl;

[men] backward

and makes their knowledge

That confirms

of his servant

and the counsel

of His messengers

of Jerusalem

lî·rū·šā·lim

לִירוּשָׁלִַ֜ם

you shall be inhabited

and to the cities

you shall be build

tib·bā·ne·nāh,

תִּבָּנֶ֔ינָה

and the decayed places

wə·ḥā·rə·ḇō·w·ṯe·hā

וְחָרְבוֹתֶ֖יהָ

I will raise up

’ă·qō·w·mêm.

to the depth

and your rivers

wə·na·hă·rō·ṯa·yiḵ

וְנַהֲרֹתַ֖יִךְ

I will dry up

shall perform

and even saying

of Jerusalem

lî·rū·šā·lim

לִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

you shall be build

and to the temple

your foundation shall be laid
