My well-beloved

on a fertile

And he fenced it

way·‘az·zə·qê·hū

וַֽיְעַזְּקֵ֣הוּ

and gathered out the stones

way·saq·qə·lê·hū,

וַֽיְסַקְּלֵ֗הוּ

way·yiṭ·ṭā·‘ê·hū

וַיִּטָּעֵ֙הוּ֙

it with the choicest vine

in the middle

bə·ṯō·w·ḵōw,

that he looked

it should bring forth

and it brought forth

בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃

O inhabitants

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

and between me

me and my vineyard

could have been done

for My vineyard

when I looked

that it should bring forth

and brought it forth

בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃

now go to I will tell

’ō·w·ḏî·‘āh-

I beseech thee

to My vineyard

I will take away

mə·śū·kā·ṯōw

מְשׂוּכָּתוֹ֙

and it shall be

and it shall be

trodden down

And I will lay

wa·’ă·šî·ṯê·hū

וַאֲשִׁיתֵ֣הוּ

do It will be pruned

but there shall come up

I will also command

the vineyard

[is] the house

his pleasant

ša·‘ă·šū·‘āw;

שַׁעֲשׁוּעָ֑יו

and he looked

לְמִשְׁפָּט֙

but righteousness

to those who add

[there be] no

that they may be placed

wə·hū·šaḇ·tem

וְהֽוּשַׁבְתֶּ֥ם

lə·ḇad·də·ḵem

in the midst

of the earth

bə·’ā·zə·nāy

[said] the LORD

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ;

[even] great

and the offspring

to those who rise

מַשְׁכִּימֵ֥י

in the morning

strong drink

[that] they may follow

that continue

in the evening

ḇan·ne·šep̄,

יַדְלִיקֵֽם׃

and the viol

in their feasts

מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֑ם

do but they regard

and the operation

of his hands

are gone into captivity

for their lack

[they have] knowledge

and their honorable

ū·ḵə·ḇō·w·ḏōw

and their multitude

wa·hă·mō·w·nōw

has enlarged

and opened her

ū·p̄ā·‘ă·rāh

and shall descend

and their multitude

wa·hă·mō·w·nāh

וַהֲמוֹנָ֛הּ

and their pomp

ū·šə·’ō·w·nāh

וּשְׁאוֹנָ֖הּ

and he who rejoices

And shall be brought down

the mean man

and shall be humbled

way·yiš·pal-

וַיִּשְׁפַּל־

the mighty man

and the eyes

of the lofty

shall be humbled

tiš·pal·nāh.

תִּשְׁפַּֽלְנָה׃

But shall be exalted

וַיִּגְבַּ֛ה

bam·miš·pāṭ;

בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט

haq·qā·ḏō·wōš,

shall be consecrated

in righteousness

בִּצְדָקָֽה׃

Then shall feed

as in their pasture

kə·ḏā·ḇə·rām;

and the waste places

wə·ḥā·rə·ḇō·wṯ

of the wealthy

shall strangers

to those who drag

with the cords

wə·ḵa·‘ă·ḇō·wṯ

as it were with a cart

hā·‘ă·ḡā·lāh

hā·’ō·mə·rîm,

Let him make speed

to the end that

and draw near

and come [it]

wə·ṯā·ḇō·w·’āh,

and let the counsel

of the Holy One

that we may know

wə·nê·ḏā·‘āh.

to those who call

hā·’ō·mə·rîm

wə·laṭ·ṭō·wḇ

for darkness

[them that are] to wise

in their own eyes

bə·‘ê·nê·hem;

בְּעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם

their own sight

[them that are] to mighty

gib·bō·w·rîm

גִּבּוֹרִ֖ים

strong drink

that justify

מַצְדִּיקֵ֥י

and the righteousness

of the righteous

and the chaff

into the flame

[so] their root

as rottenness

and their blossom

For they have rejected

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

the spoken word

of the Holy One

is the anger

against His people

and he has stretched forth

against them

and has struck

way·yak·kê·hū,

וַיַּכֵּ֗הוּ

and did tremble

way·yir·gə·zū

וַֽיִּרְגְּזוּ֙

and the hills

their carcasses [were]

in the middle

of the streets

do turned away

[is] stretched out

And he will lift up

to the nations

lag·gō·w·yim

to the distant

mê·rā·ḥō·wq,

and will hiss

for it from the ends

of the earth

they shall come

shall be weary

shall slumber

shall be loosed

of their loins

of their shoes

arrows [are]

qaš·šə·ṯō·ṯāw

קַשְּׁתֹתָ֖יו

də·ru·ḵō·wṯ;

shall be counted

and their wheels

wə·ḡal·gil·lāw

וְגַלְגִּלָּ֖יו

like a whirlwind

kas·sū·p̄āh.

כַּסּוּפָֽה׃

Their roaring

[shall be] like a lion

they shall roar

like young lions

kak·kə·p̄î·rîm

כַּכְּפִירִ֤ים

they shall roar

and lay hold

and [it] and shall carry away safe

and they shall roar

in that them

like the roaring

kə·na·hă·maṯ-

[one] and if look

and the light

by its clouds

ba·‘ă·rî·p̄e·hā.

בַּעֲרִיפֶֽיהָ׃
