lə·rê·‘e·ḵā;

[if] you have stricken

for a stranger

נוֹקַ֥שְׁתָּ

with the words

of your mouth

you are taken

נִ֝לְכַּ֗דְתָּ

with the words

of your mouth

wə·hin·nā·ṣêl,

וְֽהִנָּצֵ֗ל

you have come

into the hand

of your friend

hiṯ·rap·pês,

הִ֝תְרַפֵּ֗ס

and make sure

to your eyes

lə·‘ê·ne·ḵā;

ū·ṯə·nū·māh,

וּ֝תְנוּמָ֗ה

to your eyelids

lə·‘ap̄·‘ap·pe·ḵā.

לְעַפְעַפֶּֽיךָ׃

from [the hunte s] hand

[of the hunter] and as a bird

ū·ḵə·ṣip·pō·wr,

וּ֝כְצִפּ֗וֹר

from the hand

of the fowler

consider her

in the summer her

in the harvest her

ma·’ă·ḵā·lāh.

מַאֲכָלָֽהּ׃

will you sleep

will you arise

from your sleep

miš·šə·nā·ṯe·ḵā.

מִשְּׁנָתֶֽךָ׃

[Yet] A little

tə·nū·mō·wṯ;

of the hands

in like a vagabond

כִמְהַלֵּ֥ךְ

So shall your poverty

and your want

ū·maḥ·sō·rə·ḵā,

וּ֝מַחְסֹֽרְךָ֗

bə·lî·ya·‘al

בְּ֭לִיַּעַל

with a fraudulent

with his eyes

with his feet

with his fingers

bə·’eṣ·bə·‘ō·ṯāw.

בְּאֶצְבְּעֹתָֽיו׃

tah·pu·ḵō·wṯ

תַּֽהְפֻּכ֨וֹת ׀

in his heart

(מִדְיָנִ֥ים

yə·šal·lê·aḥ.

יְשַׁלֵּֽחַ׃

his calamity

shall he be broken

[things] does the LORD

[tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·wṯ

an abomination

(tō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ

wə·yā·ḏa·yim,

šō·p̄ə·ḵō·wṯ

that devises

imaginations

maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ

מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת

that be swift

mə·ma·hă·rō·wṯ,

מְ֝מַהֲר֗וֹת

[that] speaks

and he who sows

ū·mə·šal·lê·aḥ

וּמְשַׁלֵּ֥חַ

of your father

of your mother

your heart them

gar·gə·rō·ṯe·ḵā.

גַּרְגְּרֹתֶֽךָ׃

bə·hiṯ·hal·leḵ·ḵā

בְּהִתְהַלֶּכְךָ֨ ׀

it shall lead

;when you sleep

bə·šā·ḵə·bə·ḵā

בְּֽ֭שָׁכְבְּךָ

they will watch

and you wake

wa·hă·qî·ṣō·w·ṯā,

וַ֝הֲקִיצ֗וֹתָ

[is] shall talk

ṯə·śî·ḥe·ḵā.

תְשִׂיחֶֽךָ׃

For the command

and [are] the way

for discipline

liš·mā·rə·ḵā

לִ֭שְׁמָרְךָ

from the evil

From the smooth

מֵֽ֝חֶלְקַ֗ת

of the tongue

of a strange women

nā·ḵə·rî·yāh.

נָכְרִיָּֽה׃

after her beauty

in your heart

bil·ḇā·ḇe·ḵā;

בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ

let her take you

tiq·qā·ḥă·ḵā,

תִּ֝קָּֽחֲךָ֗

with her eyelids

bə·‘ap̄·‘ap·pe·hā.

בְּעַפְעַפֶּֽיהָ׃

of a whorish

[a man is brought] a piece

and the adulteress

for the precious

in his bosom

and his clothes

ū·ḇə·ḡā·ḏāw,

וּ֝בְגָדָ֗יו

do be burned

ṯiś·śā·rap̄·nāh.

תִשָּׂרַֽפְנָה׃

hag·ge·ḥā·lîm;

הַגֶּחָלִ֑ים

and his feet

וְ֝רַגְלָ֗יו

do be burned

ṯik·kā·we·nāh.

תִכָּוֶֽינָה׃

he who goes in

of his neighbor

do be innocent

han·nō·ḡê·a‘

[Men] despise

he is hungry

[if] But he be found

he shall restore

šiḇ·‘ā·ṯā·yim;

שִׁבְעָתָ֑יִם

the possessions

of his house

he shall give

[But] whoever commits adultery

with a women

understanding

his own soul

ya·‘ă·śen·nāh.

יַעֲשֶֽׂנָּה׃

and dishonor

shall he get

and his reproach

wə·ḥer·pā·ṯōw,

וְ֝חֶרְפָּת֗וֹ

do be wiped away

[is] the rage

therefore he will

of vengeance

will he rest content

you give many
