An Expression of Feeling by way of Exhortation

Par´-œ-net´-i-con. Greek, παραινετικός, hortatory, from παραινέω (paraineô), to recommend, advise, exhort.

This figure is employed when a direct statement is changed, and put into the form of exhortation.
