2) name of the left of two brazen pillars, 18 cubits high, erected in the porch of Solomon’s temple
בֹּעַז (“fleetness”), pr.n. Boaz.
(1) a Bethlehemite, who married Ruth, Ruth 2:1, seq.
(2) of a pillar erected before the temple of Solomon, so called from either the architect, or if perhaps it were an ἀνάθημα, from the donor, 1 Kings 7:21; 2 Chronicles 3:17.
