אֲבַעְבֻּעֹת pl. f., pustules, boils, rising up in the skin, Exodus 9:9, 10 verbal from the root בּוּעַ Chaldee Pilpel בֶּעְבַּע to boil up, to swell up; hence Syriac ܒܰܥ݀ܒܘܽܥܝ̈ܳܬܳܙ pustules; in Hebrew א prosthet. was prefixed. Compare בּוּעַ, נָבַע.
