Märtyrer 164f.; name of small river and mounds Opp Expéd. i. 238f. (see Dr); improbably explained as =  zôr,  depression (name actually used of lower Euphrase and Tigris valleys) by Wetzst De Jes:3 701f.; Babylonian  dûru =  wall.

		דּוּרָא [Dura], Ch. pr.n. of a plain in Babylonia, Daniel 3:1. With this has been compared the city Dura (Ammianus Marcell. xxv. 6) situated on the Tigris, or another of the same name (Polyb. v. 48), on the Euphrates, near the mouth of the Chaboras. See Miscellan. Lips. Nova, t. v., p. 274.
