Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
מֶשֶׁךְ
(1) a drawing out, Psalms 126:6, מֶשֶׁךְ הַזֶּרַע “the drawing out of seed,” i.e. its being scattered along the furrows (compare Amos 9:13).
(2) possession, from the signification of holding, Job 28:18.
(3) [Meshech], pr.n. Moschi, a barbarous people inhabiting the Moschian mountains, between Iberia, Armenia, and Colchis, Psalms 120:5, almost always joined with the neighbouring Tibareni (תֻּבַל, תּוּבַל), Genesis 10:2; Ezekiel 27:13, 32:26 38:2, Ezekiel 38:3, 39:1 just as in Herodotus (iii. 94; vii. 78), Μόσχοι καὶ Τιβαρηνοί. A pronunciation more near to the Greek form is found in the Samaritan copy (Eph 1:1-23 Act 8:1-40 Act 4:1-37); LXX. Μοσόχ; Vulg. Mosoch.
