Amram = “exalted people”
1) a descendant of Kohath and Levi and father of Moses
2) one of the sons of Bani who had a foreign wife in the time of Ezra
עַמְרָם (“kindred of the Most High,” i.e. of God), [Amram], pr.n. m.
(1) the father of Moses, Exodus 6:18, 20 Numbers 3:19 whence the patron. עַמְרָמִי Numbers 3:27; 1 Chronicles 26:23.
