1 of high-priest's ephod, compare אֵפוֺד 1 b, only חֵשֶׁב אֲפֻדָּתוֺ Exodus 28:8; 39:5 the cunningly-wrought band of his ephod.
2 of sheathing of idol-images, אֲפֻדַּת מַסֵּכַתוְהָכֶ֑ךָ Isaiah 30:22 ("" צִפוּי פְסִילֵי כַסְמֶּ ךָ) compare אֵפוֺר 3a.
אֲפֻדָּה f.
(1) active noun of the preceding verb, putting on, binding on (of the Ephod), Exodus 28:8.
(2) covering (of gold), or over laying of a statue, Isaiah 30:22 i.q. צִפּוּי. They used to make the images of idols, of wood or earthenware, and then lay over them plates of gold or silver (περίχρυσα, περιάργυρα, ep. Jer. 6:34 ).
