Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
רְמַלְיָהוּ (“whom Jehovah adorned”), [Remaliah], pr.n. of the father of Pekah, king of Israel, a private and ignoble person, and on this account his son is called contemptuously בֶּז־רְמַלְיָת (Isaiah 7:4, 8:6 ), 2 Kings 15:25.
I. רָמַם i.q. רוּם to be high, lofty. Pret. רָמּ֑וּ (where, however, many MSS. and printed editions have רָמוּ) Job 22:12 and רמּוּ (where other copies have רוֹמּוּ) 24:24. Part. רוֹמֵמָה exalted, Psalms 118:16.
Niphal, imp. plur. הֵרֹמּוּ Numbers 17:10 and fut. יֵרֹמּוּ Ezekiel 10:15, 17 Ezekiel 10:17, 19 Ezekiel 10:19(in these examples a few copies omit Dagesh); to exalt oneself, to rise up.
