Leviticus 13
Chapter 13
The Test for Leprosy
1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,2 "When someone has on the skin of his (F1)body a swelling, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes an infection of (F2)leprosy on the skin of his (F1)body, (C1)then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.3 "The priest shall look at the infected area on the skin of the (F1)body, and if the hair in the infection has turned white and the infection appears to be deeper than the skin of his (F1)body, it is an infection of leprosy; when the priest has looked at him, he shall pronounce him unclean.4 "But if the bright spot is white on the skin of his (F1)body, and (F2)it does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and the hair on it has not turned white, then the priest shall (F3)isolate the person who has the infection for seven days.5 "Then the priest shall look at him on the seventh day, and if in his eyes the infection has (F1)not changed and the infection has not spread on the skin, then the priest shall (F2)isolate him for seven more days.6 "The priest shall then look at him again on the seventh day, and if the infected area has faded and the infection has not spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean; it is only a rash. And he shall (C1)wash his clothes and be clean.
7 "But if the rash spreads farther on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall appear again to the priest.8 "And the priest shall look, and if the rash has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is leprosy.
9 "When the infection of leprosy is on someone, then he shall be brought to the priest.10 "The priest shall then look, and if there is a (C1)white swelling on the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is new raw flesh in the swelling,11 it is (F1)a chronic leprosy on the skin of his (F2)body, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean; he shall not (F3)isolate him, for he is unclean.12 "If the leprosy breaks out farther on the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of the person who has the infection from his head even to his feet, (F1)as far as the priest can see,13 then the priest shall look, and behold, if the leprosy has covered his entire (F1)body, he shall pronounce the one who has the infection clean; it has all turned white and he is clean.14 "But whenever raw flesh appears on him, he shall be unclean.15 "The priest shall look at the raw flesh, and he shall pronounce him unclean; the raw flesh is unclean, it is leprosy.16 "Or if the raw flesh turns back and is changed to white, then he shall (C1)come to the priest,17 and the priest shall look at him, and behold, if the infected area has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce the one who has the infection clean; he is clean.
18 "Now when the (F1)body has a boil on its skin and it is healed,19 and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling or a reddish-white, bright spot, then it shall be shown to the priest;20 and the priest shall look, and behold, if (F1)it appears to be deeper than the skin, and the hair on it has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is the infection of leprosy, it has broken out in the boil.21 "But if the priest looks at it, and behold, there are no white hairs in it and it is not deeper than the skin and is faded, then the priest shall (F1)isolate him for seven days;22 and if it spreads farther on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infection.23 "But if the bright spot remains in its place and does not spread, it is only the scar of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
24 "Or if the (F1)body sustains in its skin a burn by fire, and the raw flesh of the burn becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white,25 then the priest shall look at it. And if the hair in the bright spot has (C1)turned white and it appears to be deeper than the skin, it is leprosy; it has broken out in the burn. Therefore, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infection of leprosy.26 "But if the priest looks at it, and indeed, there is no white hair in the bright spot and it is no deeper than the skin, but is dim, then the priest shall (F1)isolate him for seven days;27 and the priest shall look at him on the seventh day. If it spreads farther in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infection of leprosy.28 "But if the bright spot remains in its place and has not spread in the skin, but is dim, it is the swelling from the burn; and the priest shall pronounce him clean, for it is only the scar of the burn.
29 "Now if a man or woman has an infection on the head or on the beard,30 then the priest shall look at the infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and there is thin yellowish hair in it, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a scale, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard.31 "But if the priest looks at the infection of the scale, and indeed, it appears to be no deeper than the skin and there is no black hair in it, then the priest shall (F1)isolate the person with the scaly infection for seven days.32 "And on the seventh day the priest shall look at the infection, and if the scale has not spread and no yellowish hair has (F1)grown in it, and the appearance of the scale is no deeper than the skin,33 then he shall shave himself, but he shall not shave the scale; and the priest shall (F1)isolate the person with the scale for seven more days.34 "Then on the seventh day the priest shall look at the scale, and if the scale has not spread in the skin and it appears to be no deeper than the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; and he shall wash his clothes and be clean.35 "But if the scale spreads farther in the skin after his cleansing,36 then the priest shall look at him, and if the scale has spread on the skin, the priest need not look for the yellowish hair; he is unclean.37 "If in his sight the scale has remained, however, and black hair has grown in it, the scale has healed, and he is clean; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.
38 "When a man or a woman has bright spots on the skin of the (F1)body, white bright spots,39 then the priest shall look, and if the bright spots on the skin of their (F1)bodies are a faint white, it is (F2)eczema that has broken out on the skin; he is clean.
40 "Now if a man (F1)loses the hair of his head, he is only (C1)bald; he is clean.41 "And if his head becomes bald at the (F1)front and sides, he is bald on the forehead; he is clean.42 "But if on the bald head or the bald forehead there occurs a reddish-white infection, it is leprosy breaking out on his bald head or on his bald forehead.43 "Then (C1)the priest shall look at him; and if the swelling of the infection is reddish-white on his bald head or on his bald forehead, like the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the (F1)body,44 he is a leprous man, he is unclean. The priest must pronounce him unclean; his infection is on his head.
45 "As for the person who has the leprous infection, his clothes shall be torn and (C1)the hair of his head shall be (F1)uncovered, and he shall (C2)cover his (F2)mustache and call out, '(C3)Unclean! Unclean!'46 "He shall remain unclean all the days during which he has the infection; he is unclean. He shall live alone; he shall live (C1)outside the camp.
47 "When a garment has (F1)a mark of leprosy in it, whether it is a wool garment or a linen garment,48 whether in (F1)warp or (F2)woof, of linen or of wool, whether in leather or in any article made of leather,49 if the (F1)mark is greenish or reddish in the garment or in the leather, whether in the (F2)warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, it is a leprous (F1)mark and it shall be shown to the priest.50 "Then (C1)the priest shall look at the mark and shall (F1)quarantine the article with the mark for seven days.51 "He shall then look at the mark on the seventh day; if the mark has spread in the garment, whether in the (F1)warp or in the woof, or in the leather, whatever the purpose for which the leather is used, the mark is a (F2)leprous malignancy, it is unclean.52 "So he shall burn the garment, whether it is the (F1)warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or any article of leather, in which the mark occurs; for it is a (F2)leprous malignancy. It shall be burned in the fire.
53 "But if the priest looks, and indeed the mark has not spread in the garment, either in the (F1)warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather,54 then the priest shall order them to wash the thing in which the mark occurs, and he shall (F1)quarantine it for seven more days.55 "After the article with the mark has been washed, the priest shall again look, and if the mark has not changed its appearance, even if the mark has not spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire, whether an eating away has produced bareness on the back or on the front of it.
56 "But if the priest looks, and indeed the mark has faded after it has been washed, then he shall tear it out of the garment or out of the leather, whether from the (F1)warp or from the woof;57 yet if it appears again in the garment, whether in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, it is an outbreak; the article with the mark shall be burned in the fire.58 "But the garment, whether the warp or the woof, or any article of leather from which the mark has disappeared when you washed it, shall then be washed a second time and will be clean."
59 This is the law for the mark of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, whether in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, for pronouncing it clean or unclean.
Proverbs 25
Chapter 25
Similitudes and Instructions
1 These also are (C1)proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, transcribed.
2 It is the glory of God to (C1)conceal a matter,
But the glory of (C2)kings is to search out a matter.
3 As the heavens for height and the earth for depth,
So the heart of kings is unsearchable.
4 Take away the (F1)(C1)impurities from the silver,
And there comes out a vessel for the (C2)smith;
5 Take away the (C1)wicked before the king,
And his (C2)throne will be established in righteousness.
6 Do not boast in the presence of the king,
And do not stand in the same place (F1)as great people;
7 For (C1)it is better that it be said to you, "Come up here,"
Than for you to be placed lower in the presence of the prince,
Whom your eyes have seen.
8 Do not go out (C1)hastily to (F1)argue your case;
(F2)Otherwise, what will you do in (F3)the end,
When your neighbor humiliates you?
9 (F1)(C1)Argue your case with your neighbor,
And (C2)do not reveal the secret of another,
10 Or one who hears it will put you to shame,
And the evil report about you will not (F1)pass away.
11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver,
Is a (C1)word spoken at (F1)the proper time.
12 Like (F1)an (C1)earring of gold and a (C2)jewelry piece of (C3)fine gold,
Is a wise person who offers rebukes to a (C4)listening ear.
13 Like the cold of snow in the (F1)time of harvest
Is a (C1)faithful messenger to those who send him,
For he refreshes the soul of his masters.
14 Like (C1)clouds and (C2)wind without rain
Is a person who boasts (F1)of his gifts falsely.
15 Through (F1)(C1)patience a ruler may be persuaded,
And a gentle tongue breaks bone.
16 Have you (C1)found honey? Eat only (F1)what you need,
So that you do not have it in excess and vomit it.
17 Let your foot rarely be in your neighbor's house,
Or he will become (F1)weary of you and hate you.
18 Like a club, a (C1)sword, and a sharp (C2)arrow
Is a person who gives (C3)false testimony against his neighbor.
19 Like a bad tooth and (F1)an unsteady foot
Is confidence in a (C1)treacherous person in time of trouble.
20 Like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar on (F1)soda,
Is one who sings songs to (F2)a troubled heart.
21 (C1)If (F1)your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For you will (F1)heap burning coals on his head,
And (C1)the LORD will reward you.
23 The north wind brings rain,
And a (F1)(C1)gossiping tongue brings an angry face.
24 It is (C1)better to live on a corner of the roof,
Than (F1)in a house shared with a contentious woman.
25 Like cold water to a weary soul,
So is (C1)good news from a distant land.
26 Like a (C1)trampled spring and a (F1)polluted well,
So is a righteous person who gives way before the wicked.
27 It is not good to eat much honey,
Nor is it glory to (C1)search out (F1)one's own glory.
28 Like a (C1)city that is broken into and without walls
So is a person (C2)who has no self-control over his spirit.
Matthew 11:20-30
Chapter 11
20 Then He began to reprimand the cities in which most of His (F1)(C1)miracles were done, because they did not repent.21 "(C1)Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, (C2)Bethsaida! For if the (F1)miracles that occurred in you had occurred in (C3)Tyre and (C3)Sidon, they would have repented long ago in (F2)(C4)sackcloth and ashes.22 "Nevertheless I say to you, (C1)it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on (C2)the day of judgment than for you.23 "And you, (C1)Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be (C2)brought down to (C3)Hades! For if the (F1)miracles that occurred in you had occurred in (C4)Sodom, it would have remained to this day.24 "Nevertheless I say to you that (C1)it will be more tolerable for the land of (C2)Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you."
Come to Me
25 (F1)(C1)At that time Jesus said, "I praise You, (C2)Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that (C3)You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to infants.26 "Yes, (C1)Father, for this way was well pleasing in Your sight.27 "(C1)All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father (C2)except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son determines to reveal Him.
28 "(C1)Come to Me, all (F1)who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 "Take My yoke upon you and (C1)learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and (C2)YOU WILL FIND (F1)REST FOR YOUR SOULS.30 "For (C1)My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light."
