1 Chronicles 16:7-43
Chapter 16
7 Then on that day David (C1)first assigned (F1)Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD.
Psalm of Thanksgiving
8 (C1)Give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name;
(C2)Make His deeds known among the peoples.
9 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
(F1)Speak of all His (F2)wonders.
10 Boast in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be joyful.
11 (C1)Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face continually.
12 (C1)Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done,
(C2)His marvels and the judgments from His mouth,
13 You (F1)descendants of Israel His servant,
Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 He is the LORD our God;
(C1)His judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
16 (C1)The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac.
17 (C1)He also confirmed it to Jacob as a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
18 Saying, "(C1)To you I will give the land of Canaan,
As the portion of your inheritance."
19 (C1)When they were only a few in number,
Very few, and strangers in it,
20 And they wandered from nation to nation,
And from one kingdom to another people,
21 He allowed no one to oppress them,
And (C1)He rebuked kings for their sakes, saying,
22 "Do not touch My anointed ones,
And (C1)do not harm My prophets."
23 (C1)Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
25 For (C1)great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
He also is (C2)to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are (F1)(C1)idols,
(C2)But the LORD made the heavens.
27 Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place.
28 Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
29 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an (F1)offering, and come before Him;
(C1)Worship the LORD in (F2)holy attire.
30 Tremble before Him, all the earth;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
31 (F1)(C1)Let the heavens be joyful, and the earth rejoice;
And let them say among the nations, "(C2)The LORD reigns."
32 (C1)Let the sea (F1)roar, and (F2)everything it contains;
Let the field rejoice, and everything that is in it.
33 Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy in the presence of the LORD;
For He is coming to judge the earth.
34 (C1)Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
35 (C1)Then say, "Save us, God of our salvation,
And gather us and save us from the nations,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
And (F1)glory in Your praise."
36 (C1)Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
From everlasting to everlasting!
Then all the people (C2)said, "Amen," and praised the LORD.
Worship before the Ark
37 So he left Asaph and his relatives there (C1)before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to minister before the ark continually, (C2)as every day's work required,38 and (C1)Obed-edom with (F1)his sixty-eight relatives; Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and (C2)Hosah as gatekeepers.39 He left (C1)Zadok the priest and his relatives the priests (C2)before the (F1)tabernacle of the LORD in the high place which was at Gibeon,40 to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, (C1)even according to everything that is written in the Law of the LORD, which He commanded Israel.41 With them were (C1)Heman and Jeduthun, and (C2)the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to (C3)give thanks to the LORD, because His (F1)kindness is everlasting.42 And with them were Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those who were to play them, and with instruments for (C1)the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun for the gate.
43 (C1)Then all the people departed, each to his house; and David returned to bless his household.
Zechariah 5
Chapter 5
The Flying Scroll
1 Then I raised my eyes again and looked, and behold, there was a flying (C1)scroll.2 And he said to me, "(C1)What do you see?" And I said, "I see a flying scroll; its length is (F1)twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits."3 Then he said to me, "This is the (C1)curse that is going forth over the face of the entire (F1)land; everyone who (C2)steals certainly will be purged away according to (F2)the writing on one side, and everyone who (C3)swears falsely will be purged away according to (F2)the writing on the other side.4 "I will (C1)make it go forth," declares the LORD of armies, "and it will (C2)enter the house of the (C3)thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and (C4)destroy it with its timber and stones."
5 Then (C1)the angel who had been speaking with me went out and said to me, "Now raise your eyes and see what this is that is going forth."6 And I said, "What is it?" Then he said, "This is the (F1)(C1)ephah going forth." Again he said, "This is their (F2)appearance in all the (F3)land.7 And behold, a lead cover was lifted up." He continued, "And this is a woman sitting inside the ephah."8 Then he said, "This is (C1)Wickedness!" And he thrust her into the middle of the ephah and threw the lead weight on its (F1)opening.9 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of the (C1)stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.10 So I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?"11 Then he said to me, "To build a (F1)temple for her in the land of (C1)Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal."
John 4:27-42
Chapter 4
27 And at this point His (C1)disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, "What are You seeking?" or, "Why are You speaking with her?"28 So the woman left her waterpot and went into the city, and (*)said to the people,29 "Come, see a Man (C1)who told me all the things that I have done; (C2)this is not the (F1)Christ, is He?"30 They left the city and were coming to Him.
31 Meanwhile the disciples were urging Him, saying, "(C1)Rabbi, eat something."32 But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."33 So the (C1)disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?"34 Jesus (*)said to them, "My food is to (C1)do the will of Him who sent Me, and to (C2)accomplish His work.35 "Do you not say, 'There are still four months, and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields, that they are white (C1)for harvest.36 "Already the one who reaps is receiving (C1)wages and is gathering (C2)fruit for (C3)eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps may rejoice together.37 "For in this case the saying is true: '(C1)One sows and another reaps.'38 "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have (F1)come into their labor."
The Samaritans
39 Now from (C1)that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "(C2)He told me all the things that I have done."40 So when the Samaritans came to (F1)Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.41 Many more believed because of His word;42 and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One truly is (C1)the Savior of the world."<
