Ezekiel 46-47

Chapter 46

The Prince's Offerings

1 'This is what the Lord (F1)GOD says: "The (C1)gate of the (C2)inner courtyard facing east shall be (C3)shut for the six (C4)working days; but it shall be opened on the (C5)Sabbath day and opened on the day of the (C6)new moon.2 "The (C1)prince shall enter by way of the porch of the gate from outside and stand by the (C2)post of the gate. Then the priests shall provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate and then go out; but the gate shall not be (C3)shut until the evening.3 "The (C1)people of the land shall also worship at the doorway of that gate before the LORD on the Sabbaths and on the (C2)new moons.4 "The (C1)burnt offering which the prince shall offer to the LORD on the Sabbath day shall be (C2)six lambs without blemish and a ram without blemish;5 and the (C1)grain offering shall be an (F1)ephah (F2)with the ram, and the grain offering (F2)with the lambs (F3)as much as he is (C2)able to give, and a (F4)hin of oil (F2)with an ephah.6 "On the day of the (C1)new moon he shall offer a (F1)bull without blemish, and six lambs and a ram, which shall be without blemish.7 "And he shall provide a (C1)grain offering, an ephah (F1)with the bull and an ephah (F1)with the ram, and (F1)with the lambs as (F2)much as he is (C2)able, and a hin of oil (F1)with an ephah.8 "When the (C1)prince enters, he shall go in by way of the porch of the gate, and go out by (F1)the same way.9 "But when the people of the land come (C1)before the LORD at the appointed feasts, one who enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate. And one who enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. (F1)No one shall return by way of the gate by which he entered, but shall go straight out.10 "And when they go in, the prince shall go in (C1)among them; and when they go out, (F1)he shall go out.

11 "At the (C1)festivals and the appointed feasts, the (C2)grain offering shall be an ephah (F1)with a bull and an ephah (F1)with a ram, and (F1)with the lambs as (F2)much as one is able to give, and a hin of oil (F1)with an ephah.12 "And when the prince provides a (F1)(C1)voluntary offering, a burnt offering, or peace offerings as a (F1)voluntary offering to the LORD, the gate facing east shall be (C2)opened for him. And he shall provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings as he does on the (C3)Sabbath day. Then he shall go out, and the gate shall be shut after he goes out.

13 "And you shall provide a (C1)lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the LORD daily; (C2)morning by morning you shall provide it.14 "You shall also provide a grain offering with it morning by morning, a (C1)sixth of an ephah and a third of a hin of oil to moisten the fine flour, a grain offering to the LORD continually by (F1)a permanent ordinance.15 "So they shall provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil, morning by morning, as a (C1)continual burnt offering."

16 'This is what the Lord GOD says: "If the prince gives a (C1)gift from his inheritance to any of his sons, it shall belong to his sons; it is their possession by inheritance.17 "But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall be his until the (C1)year of (F1)release; then it shall return to the prince. His inheritance shall be only his sons'; it shall belong to them.18 "And the prince shall (C1)not take from the people's inheritance, (F1)(C2)depriving them of their property; he shall give his sons inheritance from his own property, so that My people will not be scattered, anyone from his property."'"

The Boiling Places

19 Then he brought me through the (C1)entrance, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which faced north; and behold, a place was there at the extreme rear toward the west.20 And he said to me, "This is the place where the priests shall boil the (C1)guilt offering and the sin offering, and where they shall (C2)bake the grain offering, so that they do not bring them out into the outer courtyard (F1)and transfer holiness to the people."

21 Then he brought me out into the outer courtyard and led me across to the four corners of the courtyard; and behold, in every corner of the courtyard there was a small courtyard.22 In the four corners of the courtyard there were enclosed courtyards, forty (F1)cubits long and thirty wide; these four in the corners were (F2)the same size.23 And there was a row of masonry all around in them, around the four of them, and cooking hearths were made under the rows all around.24 Then he said to me, "These are the cooking (F1)places where the ministers of the house shall cook the sacrifices of the people."

Chapter 47

Water from the Temple

1 Then he brought me back to the (C1)door of the house; and behold, (C2)water was flowing from under the threshold of the house toward the east, for the house faced east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar.2 And he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around (F1)on the outside to the outer gate, by the way facing east. And behold, water was spurting out from the south side.

3 When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand (F1)cubits, and he led me through the water, water reaching the ankles.4 Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the knees. Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the (F1)hips.5 Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not (F1)wade across, because the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a (C1)river that could not be crossed by wading.6 And he said to me, "Son of man, have you (C1)seen this?" Then he brought me (F1)back to the bank of the river.7 Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river there were very many (C1)trees on the one side and on the other.8 Then he said to me, "These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the (C1)Arabah; then they go toward the (F1)sea, being made to flow into the (C2)sea, and the waters of the sea become (F2)fresh.9 "And it will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the (F1)river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others (F2)become fresh; so (C1)everything will live where the river goes.10 "And it will come about that (C1)fishermen will stand beside it; from (C2)Engedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the (C3)spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the (C4)Great Sea, (C5)very many.11 "But its swamps and marshes will not become (F1)fresh; they will be (F2)left for (C1)salt.12 "And (C1)by the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of (C2)trees for food. Their (C3)leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their (C4)leaves for healing."

Boundaries and Division of the Land

13 This is what the Lord (F1)GOD says: "This shall be the (C1)boundary by which you shall divide the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall have two (C2)portions.14 "And you shall divide it for an inheritance, each one (F1)equally with the other; for I (F2)(C1)swore to give it to your forefathers, and this land shall fall to you (F3)as an inheritance.

15 "And this shall be the boundary of the land: on the (C1)north side, from the Great Sea by the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of (F1)(C2)Zedad;16 (F1)(C1)Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of (C2)Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran.17 "The boundary shall (F1)extend from the sea to (C1)Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, and on the north toward the north is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

18 "The (C1)east side, from between Hauran, Damascus, (C2)Gilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the (C3)Jordan; from the north border to the eastern sea you shall measure. This is the east side.

19 "The (C1)south side toward the south shall extend from (C2)Tamar as far as the waters of (C3)Meribath-kadesh, to the (C4)brook of Egypt and to the (C5)Great Sea. This is the south side toward the south.

20 "And the (C1)west side shall be the Great Sea, from the south border to a point opposite (F1)(C2)Lebo-hamath. This is the west side.

21 "So you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.22 "You shall divide it by (C1)lot for an inheritance among yourselves and among the (C2)strangers who stay in your midst, who bring forth sons in your midst. And they shall be to you as the native-born among the sons of Israel; they shall be allotted an (C3)inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.23 "And in the tribe with which the stranger resides, there you shall give him his inheritance," declares the Lord GOD.

Isaiah 65

Chapter 65

A Rebellious People

1 "I permitted Myself to be sought by (C1)those who did not ask for Me;
I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.
I said, 'Here am I, here am I,'
To a nation which (C2)did not call on My name.

2 "(C1)I have spread out My hands all day long to a (C2)rebellious people,
Who walk in the way which is not good, (F1)following their own (C3)thoughts,

3 A people who continually (C1)provoke Me to My face,
Offering sacrifices in (C2)gardens and (C3)burning incense on bricks;

4 Who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places;
Who (C1)eat pig's flesh,
And the broth of unclean meat is in their pots.

5 "Who say, '(C1)Keep to yourself, do not come near me,
For I am holier than you!'
These are smoke in My (F1)nostrils,
A fire that burns all the day.

6 "Behold, it is written before Me:
I will (C1)not keep silent, but (C2)I will repay;
I will even repay (F1)into their laps,

7 Both your own (C1)wrongdoings and the wrongdoings of your fathers together," says the LORD.
"Because they have (C2)burned incense on the mountains
And (C3)scorned Me on the hills,
Therefore I will (C4)measure their former work (F1)into their laps."

8 This is what the LORD says:

"Just as the new wine is found in the cluster,
And one says, 'Do not destroy it, for there is (F1)benefit in it,'
So I will act in behalf of My servants
In order (C1)not to destroy (F2)all of them.

9 "I will bring forth (F1)(C1)offspring from Jacob,
And an (C2)heir of My mountains from Judah;
(C3)My chosen ones shall inherit it,
And (C4)My servants will live there.

10 "(C1)Sharon will be a pasture land for flocks,
And the (C2)Valley of Achor a resting place for herds,
For My people who (C3)seek Me.

11 "But as for you who (C1)abandon the LORD,
Who forget My (C2)holy mountain,
Who set a table for (F1)Fortune,
And fill a jug of mixed wine for (F2)Destiny,

12 I will destine you for the (C1)sword,
And all of you will bow down to the (C2)slaughter.
Because I called, but you (C3)did not answer;
I spoke, but you did not listen.
Instead, you did evil in My sight
And chose that in which I did not delight."

13 Therefore, this is what the Lord (F1)GOD says:
"Behold, My servants will (C1)eat, but you will be (C2)hungry.
Behold, My servants will (C3)drink, but you will be (C4)thirsty.
Behold, My servants will (C5)rejoice, but you will be (C6)put to shame.

14 "Behold, My servants will (C1)shout joyfully with a glad heart,
But you will (C2)cry out from a painful heart,
And you will wail from a broken spirit.

15 "You will leave your name as a (C1)curse to My chosen ones,
And the Lord (F1)GOD will put you to death.
But (F2)My servants will be called by (C2)another name.

16 "Because the one who (F1)is blessed on the earth
Will (F1)be blessed by the (C1)God of truth;
And the one who swears an oath on the earth
Will (C2)swear by the God of truth;
Because the former troubles are forgotten,
And because they are hidden from My sight!

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 "For behold, I create (C1)new heavens and a new earth;
And the (C2)former things will not be remembered or come to (F1)mind.

18 "But be (C1)glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing
And her people for gladness.

19 "I will also (C1)rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people;
And there will no longer be heard in her
The voice of (C2)weeping and the sound of crying.

20 "No longer will there be (F1)in it an infant who lives only a few days,
Or an old person who does (C1)not (F2)live out his days;
For the youth will die at the age of a hundred,
And the (F3)(C2)one who does not reach the age of a hundred
Will be thought accursed.

21 "They will (C1)build houses and inhabit them;
They will also (C2)plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

22 "They will not build and (C1)another inhabit,
They will not plant and another eat;
For (C2)as the (F1)lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,
And My chosen ones will (C3)fully enjoy the work of their hands.

23 "They will (C1)not labor in vain,
Or give birth to children for disaster;
For they are the (F1)(C2)descendants of those blessed by the LORD,
And their descendants with them.

24 "It will also come to pass that before they call, I will (C1)answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.25 "The (C1)wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the (C2)lion will eat straw like the ox; and (C3)dust will be the serpent's food. They will (C4)do no evil or harm on all My (C5)holy mountain," says the LORD.

Luke 4:31-44

Chapter 4

31 And (C1)He came down to (C2)Capernaum, a city of Galilee; and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;32 and (C1)they were amazed at His teaching, because (C2)His (F1)message was delivered with authority.33 In the synagogue there was a man (F1)possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,34 "Leave us alone! (F1)(C1)What business do You have with us, Jesus (F2)of (C2)Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—(C2)the Holy One of God!"35 But Jesus (C1)rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst of the people, it came out of him without doing him any harm.36 And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another, saying, "What is (F1)this message? For (C1)with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!"37 And (C1)the news about Him was spreading into every locality of the surrounding region.

Many Are Healed

38 (C1)Then He got up and left the synagogue, and entered Simon's home. Now Simon's mother-in-law was (C2)suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him (F1)to help her.39 And standing over her, He (C1)rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and served them.

40 (C1)Now while (C2)the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He was (C3)laying His hands on each one of them and (C4)healing them.41 Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, "You are (C1)the Son of God!" And yet He was (C2)rebuking them and would (C3)not allow them to speak, because they knew that He was the (F1)Christ.

42 (C1)Now when day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and they came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving them.43 But He said to them, "I must also preach the kingdom of God to the other cities, (C1)because I was sent for this purpose."

44 So He kept on preaching in the synagogues (C1)of (F1)Judea.
