Ezekiel 48

Chapter 48

Division of the Land

1 "Now (C1)these are the names of the tribes: from the northern extremity, (F1)beside the way of Hethlon to (F2)Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, toward the north (F1)beside Hamath, (F3)running from east to west, (C2)Dan, one portion.2 "Beside the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Asher, one portion.3 "Beside the border of Asher, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Naphtali, one portion.4 "Beside the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Manasseh, one portion.5 "Beside the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Ephraim, one portion.6 "Beside the border of Ephraim, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Reuben, one portion.7 "Beside the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Judah, one portion.

8 "And beside the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the (F1)allotment which you shall (F2)set apart, twenty-five thousand (F3)cubits in width, and in length like one of the portions, from the east side to the west side; and the (C1)sanctuary shall be in the middle of it.9 "The allotment that you shall set apart to the LORD shall be twenty-five thousand cubits in length and ten thousand in width.

Portion for the Priests

10 "The holy allotment shall be for these, namely for the (C1)priests, toward the north twenty-five thousand cubits in length, toward the west ten thousand in width, toward the east ten thousand in width, and toward the south twenty-five thousand in length; and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in its midst.11 "It shall be for the priests who are sanctified of the (C1)sons of Zadok, who have (F1)taken the responsibility I gave them, who did not go astray when the sons of Israel went astray as the (C2)Levites went astray.12 "It shall be an allotment to them from the allotment of the land, a most holy reserve, by the border of the Levites.13 "And alongside the border of the priests, the Levites shall have twenty-five thousand cubits in length and ten thousand in width. The entire length shall be twenty-five thousand cubits and the width ten thousand.14 "Moreover, they (C1)shall not sell or exchange any of it, or allow this (F1)choice portion of land to pass to others; for it is holy to the LORD.

15 "The remainder, five thousand cubits in width and twenty-five thousand (F1)in length, shall be for (C1)common use for the city, for homes and for (F2)open spaces; and the city shall be in its midst.16 "And these shall be its measurements: the north side, 4,500 cubits, the south side (C1)4,500 cubits, the east side 4,500 cubits, and the west side, 4,500 cubits.17 "The city shall have (F1)open spaces: on the north 250 cubits, on the south 250 cubits, on the east 250 cubits, and on the west 250 cubits.18 "The remainder of the length alongside the holy allotment shall be ten thousand cubits toward the east and ten thousand toward the west; and it shall be (F1)alongside the holy allotment. And its produce shall be food for the workers of the city.19 "And the workers of the city, out of all the tribes of Israel, shall cultivate it.20 "The whole allotment shall be twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand cubits; you shall (F1)set apart the holy allotment, a (F2)square, with the (F3)property of the city.

Portion for the Prince

21 "The (C1)remainder shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy allotment and of the (F1)property of the city; in front of the twenty-five thousand cubits of the allotment toward the east border and westward in front of the twenty-five thousand toward the west border, alongside the portions, it shall be for the prince. And the holy allotment and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it.22 "And exclusive of the (F1)property of the Levites and the (F1)property of the city, which are in the middle of that which belongs to the prince, everything between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin shall belong to the prince.

Portion for Other Tribes

23 "As for the rest of the tribes: from the east side to the west side, (C1)Benjamin, one portion.24 "Beside the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Simeon, one portion.25 "Beside the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Issachar, one portion.26 "Beside the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Zebulun, one portion.27 "Beside the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, (C1)Gad, one portion.28 "And beside the border of Gad, at the south side toward the south, the border shall be from (C1)Tamar to the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the (C2)Great Sea.29 "This is the (C1)land which you shall divide by lot to the tribes of Israel for an inheritance, and these are their several portions," declares the Lord (F1)GOD.

The City Gates

30 "Now these are the exits of the city: on the (C1)north side, 4,500 cubits by measurement,31 (F1)shall be the gates of the city, (F2)(C1)named for the tribes of Israel, three gates toward the north: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; and the gate of Levi, one.32 "On the east side, 4,500 cubits, (F1)shall be three gates: the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, one; and the gate of Dan, one.33 "On the south side, 4,500 cubits by measurement, (F1)shall be three gates: the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of Issachar, one; and the gate of Zebulun, one.34 "On the west side, 4,500 cubits, shall be three gates: the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, one; and the gate of Naphtali, one.35 "The city shall be eighteen thousand cubits all around; and the (C1)name of the city from that day shall be, '(F1)The (C2)LORD is there.'"

Isaiah 66

Chapter 66

Heaven Is God's Throne

1 This is what the LORD says:

"(C1)Heaven is My throne and the earth is the footstool for My feet.
Where then is a (C2)house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that (F1)I may rest?

2 "For (C1)My hand made all these things,
So all these things came into being," declares the LORD.
"But I will look to this one,
At one who is humble and (C2)contrite in spirit, and who (C3)trembles at My word.

Hypocrisy Rebuked

3 "But the one who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a person;
The one who sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog's neck;
One who offers a grain offering is like one who offers (C1)pig's blood;
One who (F1)(C2)burns incense is like one who blesses an idol.
As they have chosen their (C3)own ways,
And their souls delight in their (C4)abominations,

4 So I will (C1)choose their (F1)punishments
And (C2)bring on them what they dread.
Because I called, but (C3)no one answered;
I spoke, but they did not listen.
Instead, they did (C4)evil in My sight
And chose that in which I did not delight."

5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who (C1)tremble at His word:
"Your brothers who (C2)hate you, who (C3)exclude you on account of My name,
Have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, so that we may see your joy.'
But (C4)they will be put to shame.

6 "A sound of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple,
The voice of the LORD who is (C1)dealing retribution to His enemies.

7 "Before she was in labor, (C1)she delivered;
Before her pain came, (C2)she gave birth to a boy.

8 "(C1)Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Can a land be (F1)born in one day?
Can a nation be given birth all at once?
As soon as Zion was in labor, she also delivered her sons.

9 "Shall I bring to the point of birth but (C1)not give delivery?" says the LORD.
"Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?" says your God.

Joy in Jerusalem's Future

10 "Be (C1)joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who (C2)love her;
Be exceedingly (C3)glad with her, all you who mourn over her,

11 So that you may nurse and (C1)be satisfied with her comforting breasts,
So that you may drink fully and be delighted with her (C2)bountiful breasts."

12 For this is what the LORD says: "Behold, I extend (C1)peace to her like a river,
And the (C2)glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
And you will (F1)be nursed, you will be (C3)carried on the (F2)hip and rocked back and forth on the knees.

13 "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will (C1)comfort you;
And you will be comforted in Jerusalem."

14 Then you will (C1)see this, and your (C2)heart will be glad,
And your (C3)bones will flourish like the new grass;
And the (C4)hand of the LORD will be made known to His servants,
But He will be (C5)indignant toward His enemies.

15 For behold, the LORD will come in (C1)fire,
And His (C2)chariots like the whirlwind,
To render His anger with fury,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For the LORD will execute judgment by (C1)fire
And by His (C2)sword on (F1)humanity,
And those put to death by the LORD will be many.

17 "Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the (C1)gardens,
(F1)Following one in the center,
Who eat (C2)pig's flesh, detestable things, and mice,
Will (C3)come to an end altogether," declares the LORD.

18 "For I (F1)know their works and their (C1)thoughts; (F2)the time is coming to (C2)gather all the nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory.19 "And I will put a (C1)sign among them and send survivors from them to the nations: (C2)Tarshish, (F1)Put, (C3)Lud, (F2)Meshech, (C4)Tubal, and (F3)Javan, to the distant (C5)coastlands that have neither heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will (C6)declare My glory among the nations.20 "Then they shall (C1)bring all your countrymen from all the nations as a grain offering to the LORD, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to My (C2)holy mountain Jerusalem," says the LORD, "just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a (C3)clean vessel to the house of the LORD.21 "I will also take some of them as (C1)priests and Levites," says the LORD.

22 "For just as the (C1)new heavens and the new earth,
Which I make, will endure before Me," declares the LORD,
"So will your (C2)descendants and your (C3)name endure.

23 "And it shall be from (C1)new moon to new moon
And from Sabbath to Sabbath,
All (F1)mankind will come to (C2)bow down before Me," says the LORD.

24 "Then they will go out and look
At the (C1)corpses of the people
Who have (C2)rebelled against Me.
For their (C3)worm will not die
(C4)And their fire will not be extinguished;
And they will be an (C5)abhorrence to all (F1)mankind."

Luke 5:1-26

Chapter 5

The First Disciples

1 (C1)Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by (C2)the lake of Gennesaret;2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.3 And (C1)He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little distance from the land. And He sat down and continued teaching the crowds from the boat.4 Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and (C1)let down your nets for a catch."5 Simon responded and said, "(C1)Master, (C2)we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but (F1)I will do as You say and let down the nets."6 And when they had done this, (C1)they caught a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to tear;7 so they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, to the point that they were sinking.8 But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!"9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken;10 and likewise also were (F1)James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "(C1)Do not fear; from now on you will be (C2)catching people."11 When they had brought their boats to land, (C1)they left everything and followed Him.

A Man with Leprosy Healed

12 (C1)While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man (F1)covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."13 And He reached out with His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left him.14 And He ordered him to tell no one, saying, "But go and (C1)show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."15 But (C1)the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away (F1)to the (F2)wilderness and (C1)pray.

A Man Lowered through a Roof

17 (F1)One day He was teaching, and (C1)there were some Pharisees and (C2)teachers of the Law sitting there who had (C3)come from every village of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and (C4)the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.18 (C1)And some men were carrying a man on a stretcher who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.19 But when they did not find any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on (C1)the roof and let him down (C2)through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.20 And seeing their faith, He said, "(F1)Friend, (C1)your sins are forgiven you."21 The scribes and the Pharisees (C1)began thinking of the implications, saying, "(C2)Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? (C3)Who can forgive sins, except God alone?"22 But Jesus, (F1)aware of their thoughts, responded and said to them, "Why are you thinking this way in your hearts?23 "Which is easier, to say: 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?24 "But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins," He said to the (C1)man who was paralyzed, "I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher, and go home."25 And immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home (C1)glorifying God.26 And (F1)they were all struck with astonishment and began (C1)glorifying God. They were also filled (C2)with fear, saying, "We have seen remarkable things today!"<
