When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean.

And assoone as he knew that hee belonged vnto Herods iurisdiction, hee sent him to Herode, who himselfe also was at Hierusalem at that time.

And when Herode saw Iesus, he was exceeding glad, for hee was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him, and hee hoped to haue seene some miracle done by him.

Then he questioned with him in many words, but he answered him nothing.

And Herod with his men of warre set him at naught, and mocked him, and arayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him againe to Pilate.

And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together; for before, they were at enmitie betweene themselues.
