^(C1)His servants carried ^(F1)his body in a chariot from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own tomb. ^(C2)Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in place of his father.

^(C1)Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was ^(C2)Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

He did evil in the sight of the LORD, ^(C1)in accordance with all that his forefathers had done.

And ^(C1)Pharaoh Neco imprisoned him at ^(C2)Riblah in the land of ^(C3)Hamath, so that he would not reign in Jerusalem; and he imposed on the land a fine of ^(F1)a hundred talents of silver and ^(F2)a talent of gold.

Then Pharaoh Neco made ^(C1)Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of his father Josiah, and he ^(C2)changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz and ^(F1)(C3)brought him to Egypt, and he died there.
