After these events King Ahasuerus (C1)honored Haman, the son of Hammedatha (C2)the Agagite, and (C1)promoted him and (F1)established his authority over all the officials who were with him.

All the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and paid (F1)homage to Haman; for so the king had commanded regarding him. But (C1)Mordecai neither bowed down nor paid (F1)homage.
