O God, why have You ^(a)rejected us forever? Why does Your anger ^(b)smoke against the ^(c)sheep of Your ^[b]pasture?

Remember Your congregation, which You have ^(d)purchased of old, Which You have ^(e)redeemed to be the ^(f)tribe of Your inheritance; And this Mount ^(g)Zion, where You have dwelt.

^[c]Turn Your footsteps toward the ^(h)perpetual ruins; The enemy ⁽ⁱ⁾has damaged everything within the sanctuary.

Your adversaries have ^(j)roared in the midst of Your meeting place; They have set up their ^(k)own ^[d]standards ^(l)for signs.

It seems as if one had lifted up His ^[e](m)axe in a ^[f]forest of trees.

And now ^[g]all its ⁽ⁿ⁾carved work They smash with hatchet and ^[h]hammers.

They have ^[i](o)burned Your sanctuary ^[j]to the ground; They have ^(p)defiled the dwelling place of Your name.

They ^(q)said in their heart, "Let us ^[k]completely ^[l]subdue them." They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.

We do not see our ^(r)signs; There is ^(s)no longer any prophet, Nor is there any among us who knows ^(t)how long.

How long, O God, will the adversary ^(u)revile, And the enemy ^(v)spurn Your name forever?

Why ^(w)do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From within Your bosom, ^(x)destroy them!

Yet God is ^(y)my king from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.

^[m]You ^(z)divided the sea by Your strength; ^[n]You ^(aa)broke the heads of the ^(ab)sea monsters ^[o]in the waters.

^[p]You crushed the heads of ^[q](ac)Leviathan; ^[r]You gave him as food for the ^[s]creatures ^(ad)of the wilderness.

^[t]You ^(ae)broke open springs and torrents; ^[u]You ^(af)dried up ever-flowing streams.

Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; ^[v]You have ^(ag)prepared the ^[w]light and the sun.

^[x]You have ^(ah)established all the boundaries of the earth; ^[y]You have ^[z]made ^(ai)summer and winter.

Remember this, ^[aa]O Lord , that the enemy has ^(aj)reviled, And a ^(ak)foolish people has spurned Your name.

Do not deliver the soul of Your ^(al)turtledove to the wild beast; ^(am)Do not forget the life of Your afflicted forever.

Consider the ^(an)covenant; For the ^(ao)dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.

Let not the ^(ap)oppressed return dishonored; Let the ^(aq)afflicted and needy praise Your name.

Arise, O God, and ^(ar)plead Your own cause; Remember ^[ab]how the ^(as)foolish man reproaches You all day long.

Do not forget the voice of Your ^(at)adversaries, The ^(au)uproar of those who rise against You which ascends continually.

We ^(a)give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is ^(b)near; Men declare ^(c)Your wondrous works.

"When I select an ^(d)appointed time, It is I who ^(e)judge with equity.

"The ^(f)earth and all who dwell in it ^[b]melt; It is I who have firmly set its ^(g)pillars. ^[c]Selah.

"I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,' And to the wicked, ‘^(h)Do not lift up the horn;

Do not lift up your horn on high, ⁽ⁱ⁾Do not speak with insolent ^[d]pride.'"

For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the ^[e](j)desert comes exaltation;

But ^(k)God is the Judge; He ^(l)puts down one and exalts another.

For a ^(m)cup is in the hand of the Lord , and the wine foams; It is ^[f](n)well mixed, and He pours out of this; Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and ^(o)drink down its dregs.

But as for me, I will ^(p)declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

And all the ^(q)horns of the wicked ^[g]He will cut off, But ^(r)the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

God is ^(a)known in Judah; His name is ^(b)great in Israel.

His ^[a](c)tabernacle is in ^(d)Salem; His ^(e)dwelling place also is in Zion.

There He ^(f)broke the ^[b]flaming arrows, The shield and the sword and the ^[c]weapons of war. ^[d]Selah.

You are resplendent, ^[e]More majestic than the mountains of prey.

The ^(g)stouthearted were plundered, ^[f]They sank into sleep; And none of the ^[g]warriors could use his hands.

At Your ^(h)rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both ^[h](i)rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

You, even You, are ^(j)to be feared; And ^(k)who may stand in Your presence when once ^[i]You are angry?

You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth ^(l)feared and was still

When God ^(m)arose to judgment, To save all the humble of the earth. Selah.

For the ^[j](n)wrath of man shall praise You; With a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.

^(o)Make vows to the Lord your God and ^(p)fulfill them; Let all who are around Him ^(q)bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.

He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is ^[k](r)feared by the kings of the earth.
