NAS – Why? Because {they did} not {pursue it} by faith, but as though {they could} by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
NA26 – διὰ τί; ὅτι οὐκ ἐκ πίστεως ἀλλ ὡς ἐξ ἔργων· προσέκοψαν (5656) τῷ λίθῳ τοῦ προσκόμματος,

NAS – just as it is written: "BEHOLD, I AM LAYING IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND THE ONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME."
NA26 – καθὼς γέγραπται, (5769) Ἰδοὺ (5628) τίθημι (5719) ἐν Σιὼν λίθον προσκόμματος καὶ πέτραν σκανδάλου, καὶ ὁ πιστεύων (5723) ἐπ αὐτῷ οὐ καταισχυνθήσεται. (5701)
