LORD, God of vengeance, God of vengeance, shine forth!
Psalms 94:1
O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
Rise up, Judge of the earth, Pay back retribution to the proud.
Psalms 94:2
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
How long, LORD, shall the wicked— How long shall the wicked triumph?
Psalms 94:3
Lord , how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
They pour out words, they speak arrogantly; All who do injustice boast.
Psalms 94:4
How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
They crush Your people, LORD, And afflict Your inheritance.
Psalms 94:5
They break in pieces thy people, O Lord , and afflict thine heritage.
They kill the widow and the stranger And murder the orphans.
Psalms 94:6
They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
They have said, "The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob perceive."
Psalms 94:7
Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
Pay attention, you stupid ones among the people; And when will you understand, foolish ones?
Psalms 94:8
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
He who planted the ear, does He not hear? Or He who formed the eye, does He not see?
Psalms 94:9
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
He who disciplines the nations, will He not rebuke, He who teaches mankind knowledge?
Psalms 94:10
He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
The LORD knows human thoughts, That they are mere breath.
Psalms 94:11
The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Blessed is the man whom You discipline, LORD, And whom You teach from Your Law,
Psalms 94:12
Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord , and teachest him out of thy law;
So that You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, Until a pit is dug for the wicked.
Psalms 94:13
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
For the LORD will not abandon His people, Nor will He abandon His inheritance.
Psalms 94:14
For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
For judgment will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart will follow it.
Psalms 94:15
But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Who will take his stand for me against those who do injustice?
Psalms 94:16
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
If the LORD had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the land of silence.
Psalms 94:17
Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
If I should say, "My foot has slipped," Your faithfulness, LORD, will support me.
Psalms 94:18
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord , held me up.
When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul.
Psalms 94:19
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Can a throne of destruction be allied with You, One which devises mischief by decree?
Psalms 94:20
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
They band themselves together against the life of the righteous And condemn the innocent to death.
Psalms 94:21
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
But the LORD has been my refuge, And my God the rock of my refuge.
Psalms 94:22
But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
He has brought back their injustice upon them, And He will destroy them in their evil; The LORD our God will destroy them.
Psalms 94:23
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.
