1When Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he abandoned the law of the Lord—he and all Israel with him. 1 It happened, when the kingdom of Rechav`am was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Yisra'el with him. 1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord , and all Israel with him. 1 When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he was strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord , and all Israel with him. 1 After Rehoboam's kingdom was set up and he became strong, he and the people of Judah stopped obeying the teachings of the Lord . 1 After Rehoboam's rule was established and solidified, he and all Israel rejected the law of the Lord . 1When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the law of the LORD. 1 When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the Law of the LORD. 1 It happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Yahweh, and all Israel with him. 1 And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

Verse 2 Chronicles 12:9. Took away the treasures — Such a booty as never had before, nor has since, come into the hand of man.

The shields of gold — These shields were the mark of the king's body-guard: it was in imitation of this Eastern magnificence that Alexander constituted his Argyraspides, adorned with the spoils taken from Darius. See Quintus Curtius, lib. viii., c. 5, et alibi.
