2 Chronicles 12:1

When Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he abandoned the law of the Lord—he and all Israel with him. It happened, when the kingdom of Rechav`am was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Yisra'el with him. And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord , and all Israel with him. When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he was strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord , and all Israel with him. After Rehoboam's kingdom was set up and he became strong, he and the people of Judah stopped obeying the teachings of the Lord . After Rehoboam's rule was established and solidified, he and all Israel rejected the law of the Lord . When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the law of the LORD. When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the Law of the LORD. It happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Yahweh, and all Israel with him. And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him. Now it happened that when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him forsook the law of Yahweh. After Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he and all Israel with him forsook the law of the LORD. Soon after Rehoboam had control of his kingdom, he and everyone in Judah stopped obeying the Lord . But in time, after Rechav‘am had consolidated his rulership and had become strong, he, and with him all Isra'el, abandoned the Torah of Adonai . And it came to pass when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and when he had become strong, [that] he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him. Rehoboam became a strong king and made his kingdom strong. Then Rehoboam and the whole tribe of Judah refused to obey the law of the Lord . AND it came to pass when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. As soon as Rehoboam had established his authority as king, he and all his people abandoned the Law of the Lord . And when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and when he was strengthened, he forsook the law of Yahweh, and all Israel with him. And it happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was settled, and when he was strong, he forsook the Law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him. Bvt wha the kyngdome of Roboam was confirmed and stablyshed, he forsoke the lawe of the LORDE & all Israel with him. And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him. Now when Rehoboam's position as king had been made certain, and he was strong, he gave up the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him. And it came to passe, that when Rehoboam had stablished the kingdome & became mightie, he forsooke the law of the Lorde, and all Israel with him. And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. And it came to passe when Rehoboam had established the kingdome, and had strengthened himselfe, hee forsooke the Law of the Lord, and all Israel with him. And it came to pass when the kingdom of Roboam was established, and when he had grown strong, that he forsook the commandments of the Lord, and all Israel with him. And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. And whanne the rewme of Roboam was maad strong and coumfortid, he forsook the lawe of the Lord, and al Israel with hym. And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Yahweh, and all Israel with him. But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord , and all Israel followed him in this sin. When King Rehoboam's nation had been made strong, he and all Israel turned away from the Law of the Lord. When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he grew strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord , he and all Israel with him. And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of Yahweh, - and all Israel with him. And when the kingdom of Roboam was strengthened and fortified, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him. When the rule of Rehobo'am was established and was strong, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. And it cometh to pass, at the establishing of the kingdom of Rehoboam, and at his strengthening himself, he hath forsaken the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him. And it comes to pass, at the establishing of the kingdom of Rehoboam, and at his strengthening himself, he has forsaken the Law of YHWH, and all Israel with him. By the time Rehoboam had secured his kingdom and was strong again, he, and all Israel with him, had virtually abandoned God and his ways. When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him forsook the law of the LORD.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom,.... Or when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established; the tribes of Judah and Benjamin being firmly attached to him, and great numbers from the other tribes coming over to him, and things going on peaceably and prosperously during the three years that he and his people abode by the pure worship of God:

and had strengthened himself; built fortified cities for the defence of himself and kingdom, 2 Chronicles 11:5, he forsook the law of the Lord; after he had reigned three years, and was become strong, and thought himself safe and secure on the throne, trusting to his strength:

and all Israel with him; the greater part of them following the example of their king; of this defection, and the sins they fell into, see

1 Kings 14:22.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

All Israel with him - i. e., “all Judah and Benjamin” - all the Israelites of those two tribes.

Clarke's Notes on the Bible

CHAPTER XII

Rehoboam and his subjects, forsaking the Lord, are delivered

into the hands of Shishak, king of Egypt, 1-4.

Shemaiah the prophet remonstrates with them, and they humble

themselves, and Jerusalem is not destroyed; but Shishak takes

away all the treasures, and the golden shields, instead of

which Rehoboam makes shields of brass, 5-12.

He reigns badly seventeen years, dies, and is succeeded by his

son Abijah, 13-16.

NOTES ON CHAP. XII

Verse 2 Chronicles 12:1. He forsook the law of the Lord — This was after the three years mentioned 2 Chronicles 11:17.
